And the majority of the information was not still pertinent?

Kansas spends roughly $10,040 per student on education. $5,911 of those dollars go towards salaries and wages. Are you telling me that they can't find $500 per student out of the remaining $4,129 to buy books. And that's assuming that they purchase new books every year, which is highly unnecessary. I'm not buying that funding is the issue. The issues all revolve around the home life.

I went to a well funded public school. We didn't always have new textbooks. Didn't stop us...

Mom and Grandma aren't peeking out the window to see what the kid is doing. They aren't attending parent/teacher conferences. They aren't involved. They aren't parenting. New textbooks won't help if the kid isn't at school, or doesn't understand the importance of getting an education. Or why they should apply themselves. The guidance is missing.

Listen to Cosby's Pound Cake speech. Start the conversation there.

Nope. You are incorrect. It has also been proven that less funding means less achievement on a wide scale.

If it's the speech I'm thinking of, it proves my point. You are heavily ridiculed if you tell the truth.

I'm incorrect about what? Those are facts from the US Census Bureau.

Tang, you struggle with critical thinking. You have a difficult time looking deeper into stats. Lower funded schools are in poor areas. This is because poor areas contribute less local dollars. This is because fewer people are working and there are more single parents. Funding is not the cause of poorer academic performance. You have your correlations confused. I believe this is because believing that people make bad choices is inconvenient to you. If parents put more emphasis on their kids academic success, the quality of the textbook would be irrelevant.

Please start thinking critically.

Money is a factor, but the kid wanting to get an education is the bigger factor. It is about applying themselves, and having a support group. Writing a bigger check is no guarantee of success. You can make a limited argument that better funded translates into better education. I bet most of those kids have involved parents.

FIRE 2 vice principles in every school

Use the money saved on salary and pension to HIRE 3 or 4 armed security

KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE

A bit extreme perhaps. Guards and barricades would work though.

We either do something, or continue to talk it to death...the Israelis have guarded schools. It works.

You are on the right track...it is cultural.
So why do black people have the culture of 'survival mode' aka living in poverty?
Stop being single parents?
You didn't answer my question.
I did

Tangplay is dumb. He sees that Jews thrive because we have strong family values and help one another and wealth is passed on from generation to generation. It is not the case in the African American community. Different cultures. Yet he still blames society. tangplay is so stupid it is comical. Very few Jews are single parents. 70% of African American kids have one parent. You do the math. Stop having kids unless you're married. Try that and see what happens.

You could find retired police officers/ex military that you could put in every school. I think an interesting question is why does this always happen schools? Why doesn't it happen at private schools? What is the difference between the two?

I think it's parental involvement (2 parents involved).
