Tebow had a great game two weeks ago and didn't look so hot last week.  Can he be an effective starter in the NFL?

I've seen less talented players succeed in the NFL.   He doesn't have the best arm, he throws funny and he scored a 22 on the Wonderlic.   Pennington was a successful QB and he couldn't throw.  RIvers is a successful QB and he throws like a girl.   Favre was a successful QB and he scored a 22 on the Wonderlic(by comparison, Alex Smith scored 40, Leinart scored 35, David Garrard scored 14 and Peyton Manning scored 28 so take that for what you will).   Tebow will have to be put in the right system and not be asked to do things he can't do.  A smart coach will do that.   A dumb coach will not and he'll say "Tebow can't make the throws with that motion and he struggles with our playbook" while he tries to convince everyone that he's a good coach with a bad QB.

If you have two pitchers that are equal, one is 28 and peaked, and the other is 24 with more potential and options, do you stay with the veteran or go young?

First, pitchers haven't peaked at 28.   Second, I go with the best option for the current and future of the team.   If one is 28 and the other is 24, the 24 y/o has 11-13 seasons before the inevitable decline.  The 28 y/o has 4 less seasons(and he's probably more expensive).   Cheaper, younger and more time left in a career seems to be the way to go.

Blyleven, who has obviously gotten much better since he retired in '92, and Alomar.   On another note, RichRod will be fired today.
