Do you also judge the rainstorm by the first drop, which incidentally does nothing

Do you cancel the whole season because Ted Baxter says it might rain on opening day?

What do you think is going to happen by "nuking" worlds? I'll give you a hint: new bad worlds will replace the old ones. Bad worlds are a necessity. Be glad your parents didn't think the way you do and have you terminated so they could start all over.

Because the status quo is so good?

Let's play a game.

WifS shuts down 5 more leagues at 5 PM today.

What do you think will happen over the weekend? Next week?

The game becomes healthier overall, after that step in the right direction. Five fading leagues are gone. Some individuals leave, some move to healthier leagues. Five fewer fading leagues to trap unsuspecting noobs. Future rollovers don't take quite as long.

That much is undeniable. All that's to argue is whether that's a win-win-win situation.

How so?

Just so you know, I'm not accepting "Everything will be better!! I just know it!!!"

You're like a guy who plucks a gray hair. When more come in, you keep on plucking. Eventually you're bald. Shoving the problem under the rug doesn't make the problem go away.

Can you explain those two statements:

(1) new bad worlds will replace the old ones . . . how so?

(2) Bad worlds are a necessity . . . huh?

1.) Mike T: "Everything will be better!! I just know it!!!"

2.) Hart jh: "Bad worlds are a necessity."

3.) Snake:

The game becomes healthier overall, after that step in the right direction. Five fading leagues are gone. Some individuals move to healthier leagues, some leave, (mainly the ones who quit at the first sign of difficulty). Five fewer fading leagues remain to trap unsuspecting noobs. Future rollovers don't take quite as long.

That much is undeniable. All that's to argue is whether that's a win-win-win situation.

Sorry, guys, you're going to have to do a lot better than that. And if you see that you're really, really losing badly on the merits of the argument, you can always whip out the old redline.

Where do you think the owners that lead to the "bad worlds" are going to go? Are they going to good worlds and suddenly becoming good? Or are they joining average worlds and taking their bad habits with them? Bad worlds will ALWAYS exist. So let them exist, otherwise they will infiltrate the median worlds and make them into bad worlds. Thus, bad worlds are a necessity.

LOL, you bolded, underlined and italicized the five words you read. Well done, champ. Now read the read of that same paragraph for the answer to your question.

No, I want you to explain how you know this will happen.

NOTHING good(or bad) happened when one world was shut down. Why do you think something good(or bad) will happen if they shut down more?

No. You're going to have to do better than that. The owners that helped create the bad worlds aren't leaving and they're probably not changing their ways. So now they joined average worlds and over time turned them into (you guessed it) bad worlds. Good job. You nuked the bad worlds so that those owners could in turn ruin average worlds for those owners. Now the owners from the average worlds are mad. Good job. You've ****** off the "bad" owners AND the average owners. That should help business.

Looks like you read about 5 words yourself. I said I wasn't accepting "Everything will be better!! I just know it!!!" as an answer as to why you think shutting down worlds is an step in the right direction.

Asked and answered, counselor: "Some individuals move to healthier leagues, some leave, (mainly the ones who quit at the first sign of difficulty)."

You may speculate that somehow playing in the dying worlds contaminated the owners so badly that they become Typhoid Mary's, infecting more and more worlds. Fine, that's your speculation. But there's simply no evidence of that. However, noobs learn to play the game better and better by learning from good coaches all the time, witness the Mentor threads. That is not speculation.

I will speculate that the lesser owners are the ones more apt to leave, and the better owners are the ones more apt to stay. One speculation is as good as another.

I'll use the death penalty as an example.

It has done nothing to decrease crime except kill a criminal. He could have rotted in jail and committed the same amount of future crimes.

So is the answer to kill more criminals?

For the record, I'm all for the death penalty. But it does nothing to prevent crime. It just makes us law-abiding folks feel better. Which, essentially, is what shutting down worlds will do to HBD players.

Here, champ. Read. Try.

You postulated that WIS shuts down 5 more crippled worlds, and wanted to know what would happen.

Fact 1) Five fading leagues are gone.

Fact 2) Some individuals move to healthier leagues, some leave.

Fact 3) Five fewer fading leagues remain to trap unsuspecting noobs.

Fact 4) Future rollovers don't take quite as long.

Deal with it. Making up dreck like "I just know it!" just shows you have no facts to bring to the table, so you fling dreck against the wall. Hartjh is impressed, I'm not.
