Canucks Thread - We Still Believe Topic

Time to mortgage a little future and bring in some 3rd line help possibly a veteren goalie for the playoffs as well..I hate to admit it but Nickhead is right Vancouver always thinks about the future without never taking a chance..but the future is always the future, the now nevers comes..trade a few prospects take a shot for once, they only need maybe 1 0r 2 players, you cant always be consevative sometimes you need to go on the offensive and screw conservative..conservative never gets laid..winners take chances..

It's all well and good to call for Vancouver to be aggressive, but how? They don't have any top level prospects or a potentially high draft pick to trade and they have very little to no cap room to accomodate any big acquisitions.

Hodgson,Schneider ,Grabner,Schneider(Frwd) i would consider them high prospects and as far as i know they still have all their picks, add in Edler,Raymond,shirokov..are you sure your thinking about Vancouver?

They have the pieces to bring in some guys, but they won't.. they brought in Sundin last year cause he cost only cash

Are people still high on Schneider and Hodgson? I dont follow the Vancouver farm system so I have no clue other than they can never make the big squad

...Nucks got beat up and owned vs Sens..maybe they should stay way from playing in Canada

Cody Hodgson and Jordan Schroeder are good prospects, I'll give you that. I totally forgot about those two...As for Grabner, on a team starved for secondary scoring he can't seem to crack the lineup yet. Time's a ticking for him. I hope he doesn't go the way of Pavel Brendl.

Grabner was a poor first round selection. He probably would be playing this season still if he hadn't beoke his ankle in the pre game soccer match.

It's nice to have a few decent prospects on your team, use them now as trade bait or later when they mature. For this season we need D help. A solid shut down D man would be nice, or a top pairing D man. Maybe Niedermayer will stay in Vancouver after the Olympics. Kaberle would have worked but I don't see him moving now that Komisarek is out for the season.

How do we not have cap space? D.Sedin was out a while, Demitra, half the season, Schneider not on the team anymore, Bieksa out long term, Mitchell out a while. The Canucks get some of that money back. They should have more than enough to bring in a quality scorer or two.

thats just the know it all dip sh-t in the Hawks thread throwing that out there, the guy knows f-ck all but tries to impress everyone with his so-called knowledge

According to nhlnumbers.com, the Canucks have a total cap hit of $59.837 million, a Bonus Cushion of $726K, and a long-term IR Replacement saving of $2.560 million. That leaves them with $249,000 under the cap. Not much room to make any major moves. Looks like Hawks fans do sometimes know what they're talking about.

what about the prospects and secondary scoring comments? looks like andru was 1/3 but when you just blindly throw stats out there trying to impress everyone with your knowledge your bound to fluke out once in a while? like if i was to say andru ,gregos ,and theodry were all ****'s and craved the c-ck i would probably be 1/3 ..im guessing? shouldnt you know your facts before you spout off?

Wow...this is the second time that you argue with me only to concede when someone else makes the same point I made. Dude, are you schizophrenic?

And again with the insults to those who disagree with you or prove you wrong. What the hell dude, it's a freaking INTERNET FORUM. You know, a FORUM? That's a place where intelligent discussions take place. I think what you're looking for is a playground brawl.

As for the 2/3 you say I was wrong about, I'll openly concede that I overlooked Hodgson and Schroeder, but no one can deny that the Canucks would not be a playoff team without the 2 Sedins and Alex Burrows this season.

Hawks would be 11th place without Toews and Kane..whats your point Skip? and i was just using a example..what if?
2/6/2010 4:20 AM
take away tHORNTON,hEATLEY AND mARLEAU where would the Sharks be? your responses make no sense..every team losing their first line would suck..stop the presses andru made a point that Everyone in the universe would understand
