D-ratings are ridiculously screwed up.  I doubt this will be the final release.  Unless Dan Hamuis is the greatest defenceman in history, and players with split seasons can have widely varying D-ratings for the same season at the same price.
This is exactly the response I had to the 08-09 ratings when they came out.  I actually sent a ticket in saying, guys the D ratings are all WAY wrong, they're totally inconsistent with the database up to this point.  That's when Mike Welch told me I'd stumbled onto the unpublicized fact that they were using a revised rating system.

If these ratings stand as is, this season looks the way I predicted, very similar to 08-09.  Some superinflated D ratings, half season defencemen with big D ratings,  and a huge gray mass of indistinguishable forwards.

didn't watch on the stats, but the best players are gone, so we're talking about the 3rd/4th lines/pairs.

Don't think, this will really matter, let's go on to get this started!
I disagree...there are still useful defensive forwards that will be gobbled up by the top half of the next round, leaving the rest at a disadvantage.
Starting earlier means nothing at this point since the stats have already been released.

I agree with Andru - we should slow down to one pick per round to be fair.

I haven't looked at the new database myself, so I'm willing to bring the people with picks lagging up to date inside the same envelope of ignorance we all experienced to this point.  As to how to continue, it's clearly too late to ask people not to look at the database, and there appears to be very polarized opinion.  Either way, we're going to **** off half the group.  But there is merit on both sides; yes we are talking about 4th line forwards, but now that the d-ratings are out, I agree that the people who pick first will have an advantage.  I'm willing to suspend the draft for a day if you want to vote on this, or flip a coin, or just use my judgment.  Thoughts?

one pick per round? that's ok! I agree, fair procedure for all users. let's get it on! So all have to have look to select the "best of the rest"

just a quick note I noticed that in rounds 9\10 R Vrbata and C Campoli were posted and then again in rounds 11\12.
That was part of the mix-up with killman.  Should be fixed now.

Arg, whatever, I just want to get this over with.  I don't have time to comb through every player in the database hunting for one last gem in the dirtpile.  Please let us know soon what to do, though, thanks!

How about one pick today and then back to two per day tomorrow.  There can't be more than 24 guys out there that stand out (if that).

I think this is absolutely essential for two rounds, at least.  Far too much advantage for the first few owners if they get to snag 3 guys with the stats available.

Two rounds at 1 pick per sounds right.  48 guys should wipe out the database.

Drafting is scheduled to start soon.  Based on what I've read so far, I have to say that the sentiment is overwhelmingly in favour of slowing down the draft to one pick per night.  Apparently the database changes everything (except all the apparently crappy picks I've already made).  This might also enable taybaijor to finish with his tax season and get back into this.  I'll try to keep up to date with the picks as we go.  It was a good try, but we started too late.

**************************ONE PICK AT A TIME. WIS DATABASE IS OPEN.*****************

Anyone who wants to start, the league number is 27002 (but apparently will change if I back out again).  Something worth noting: I checked "below average" minor league players as requested, but I also chose the draft option.  I propose that once we see what the salaries of our various teams are, we draft in reverse order with the lowest salary picking first.  It's a tiny bone to throw in the direction of the person with the most rotten picks.

Okay, this was the D-man that was part of my picklist, since I haven't had any time to look at the stats, hopefully he doesn't suck
D - Kent Huskins

I go with C - Michal Handzus as my 15th pick
