Just don't take all-time defensive great Glen Rice.  I'm planning on having him anchor my defense.  Of course, snydpie might get him first
Like I said ignorance. You compare Rice to Worthy? LMFAO once again. It's obvious you lack knowledge when you dis Ewing who was the best defensive player on a great defensive team. If he can man up on Dream he can defend any C in this draft. Some idiot comes out with a bunch of B.S. at the end of his career and once again you buy into it. Worthy wasn't the best defensive SF but he was one of the best. Ewing wasn't the best defensive C but he was one of the best. Dream was the best defensive player ever in my opinion. Kidd was definately one of the best defensive PG's ever.

ALL DEFENSIVE TEAM

PG. Payton
SG. Jordan
SF. Pippen
PF. Garnett
C. Dream

2nd Team

PG. D. Johnson
SG. Cooper
SF/PF.Rodman
PF. Duncan
C. Russell

Damn, wanted Worthy... not for his D though. Instead I'll take the next obvious choice and slide Hondo over to the 2. This guy was a beast and had one of the best nicknames ever.

The Human Highlight Film:

Dominique Wilkins

Big Red...Dave Cowens

Dave Cowens was a tough center that played solid D down low and was a great rebounder.  I am not taking mostly Celtics on purpose...it is just how the players are falling to me.

I knew you were going to break my heart and take him before I could! payback for Dikembe I suppose!

Anyway, the other thread is all updated though malone's pick

Glad to see Nique go. There are a few of the greatest scorers ever to grace the league that are still on the board. Two very obvious ones stick out. But they like Dominique don't excel at any other part of the game besides filling it up.

regarding the walton pick:  when i signed up for this i assumed we were imagining the players we drafted to be playing at their peaks against each other...you know, kinda like the wine cellar team in the simmons book....this is starting to sound more like some kind of weird imaginary progressive league...."ill have walton for 2 good years and as a super 6th man"...no! you should get the champion walton playing at his peak...now i agree injuries during a career should count for something when we are evaluating the teams but more in the sense that walton wont be counted on to play heavy minutes so a backup center would be important for that team...walton was an absolute steal of a pick imo but i guess we will all be evaluating teams differently based on how important longevity is

as for me ive been drafting my team with no crazy progressive league in mind so i will continue it that way.....

Manu Ginobili

The stats say this is a bad pick. But luckily we have all been able to witness with our own eyes why I would make this pick. Manu is a 3 time champion who plays both sides of the ball. He can absolutely compete against the best shooting guards and hold his own. He is a terrific outside shooter and can also attack the lane with a variety of moves. He can handle the point if I needed him to or he can just chill on the 3pt line and wait to knock down the shot if teams decide to double Baylor,Dirk, or Wilt. The Manu/Dirk pick and roll will be devastating. Manu has always been a great passer out of the pick and roll but has never really had a big who could pick and pop quite like Dirk. I love Timmy but he was never a great shooter and took some time to load up his shot. Defenses could get away with helping just a little more on Manu when he and Timmy ran any kind of pick and pop since Timmy wasn't an immediate threat to shoot. Dirk shoots quickly off the pick and pop and from anywhere. If you think the Manu/Bonner high screen and roll was tough, wait until you see Manu and Dirk run it. Manu also gives me another all-time cooler when the game gets tight near the end. If I feel like my second unit could use a boost then I can always bring Manu off the bench since he would have no problem in that role. But he will always be there at the end to close it out. The bad part is I won't be able to count on him for heavy minutes.

Ok garyman, I love Nique with Magic but.....I don't like Havlicek with this combo......Why? Magic can't defend the PG's in this draft other than Harper. You drafted Hondo to play the other teams best offensive wing but he is going to have to defend PG's on this team and I know that's not what you had intended and I don't think he's quick enough to do that and you didn't take that into consideration. Next defensive problem......Now Nique has to play the best offensive wings and though he is a decent defensive player he isn't going to serve that purpose in this league. Magic can't defend great scorers either so this team has serious defensive issues you should've considered before taking Hondo over Baylor or Worthy. Taking Hondo pretty much was a death sentence if you didn't take a SG that can defend the point but I didn't want to call you out til I saw what direction you went. When having Magic at PG you must have a SG who can defend the point and you don't have that on this team. In my opinion this team doesn't fit so far. Maybe you can explain this teams defensive strategies cuz I see problems.

Great player, great pick malone. Can't believe he was still available!

Worthy never made an all defensive team or got a single vote for DPOY.

Ewing only three times made the all-defensive team, but only second team.

Worthy D win shares for his career ranks 50 spots behind Reggie Miller and never shows up in the top 250 in career D Rating

Ewing does well on both lists, but it is mostly due to a long playing career and playing next to Oakley and Mason.

Ewing as a soft rebounder and not a top end defender doesn't strike fear in our hearts.  You can't change Ewing into something he is not.  Ewing was a perimeter player for at least the last 2/3 rds of his career.  You can't say I am going to make him a pure paint presence, because it is not who he was.  The same with Olajuwon.

Worthy as a D threat is laughable.  I love UNC, but he wasn't a great defender.  If the Lakers were such a great defensive team then lets see the ranks the ranks will be points allowed/D Rating starting in 1984-85:

1985 - 14th/7th
1986 - 10th/7th
1987 - 12th/7th
1988 - 11th/9th
1989 - 8th/7th
1990 - 7th/8th
1991 - 2nd/5th
1992 - 5th/17th

So, yeah, um, the Lakers weren't this unstoppable D.  They were good, but they weren't the Bulls or the Pistons.

I'm not going to argue the fact they gave up alot of points considering they ran the ball as much as possible. Dream wasn't a pure paint presence? hummmmm? Are you for real? He had as many moves as McHale in the post but he was way better! When he embarrassed Robinson in the post he wasn't a pure post player LMFAO U R NOT WORTH MY TIME! BECAUSE HE HAD GREAT RANGE WITH HIS FADE AWAY HE WASN'T A TRUE POST PLAYER HUH? There wasn't a player in the league who could stop Dream in the post and that's a fact! So Jabbar didn't have a pure post game either since he wasn't a power player and always used a hook shot? I DON'T GET IT!

Ewing was 2nd team cuz of Dream! DUH!
