Do you know how relieved I was to discover I posted no questions here earlier in the day?

A season is a small sample size.

I do not.

i think i know the answer to this already, but want confirmation. i have a few players who will be in the last year of their contracts with me next season. i put a team option in all their contracts when i signed them. when it shows the payroll budget for next season, are these guys full salaries included in em? so when i decline their options i will also be subtracting from my cap hit, but just paying the buyout fee?

Auburn or TCU?

Isn't it time for a playoff system in college football?

Full salaries are included until you decline the option.

Auburn.  When the money is right, there will be one.  My "plan" would have have all 11 conference winners(TBD by whatever system they want) and 5 at-large bids with no more than one at-large bid from any conference.  Since it would add 4 games for two teams, they'd have to figure out a way to keep pre-playoff games at 12.  That way only 4 teams would play more than the current 14 that teams from conference championships play.

Do you know why this thread would exsist, much less have 253 pages, other than to boost the already inflated ego of some fat f**k?

I"ve got a pitcher in the last year of his contract. He's on the 60-day DL. Season is over, playoffs underway. He's got another six months to recovery. Will he still become a free agent from the DL or should I "re-activate" him before the World Series ends to make sure I'm not stuck with him somehow?

In your opinion, what is more valuable. Loading up on a IFA or 2, or focusing solely on the draft?
1/11/2011 10:32 AM
Because people have questions, you miserable poop pump.

He'll be a FA.   I think it's the pre-arb guys that get "stuck" in the system.

IFA is for gamblers.   I've gotten screwed by it more than once.  But, if you're not drafting top 10-15, it's the best, albeit very expensive, way to get topline talent.

When's the next CFB game?

What is the most important factor on who to protect in the Rule 5 draft (too many good relievers for the available slots): splits, pitch speed, pitch ratings, game results?
1/11/2011 12:46 PM

The last Thursday in August or first Thursday in September.   Unless some podunk college plays one on the Tuesday before that.

Pitching doesn't work that way.   Protect the best overall pitcher by whatever standard you use to judge such things.

Do pitchers have a greater chance of injury the more innings they pitch ? Or are the chances on injury the same on the first pitch of the season or inning no. 225?
1/11/2011 12:57 PM
Playing in a game increases your chance of injury so I'm not sure how to answer that question.   If the question is "All things being equal, are a pitcher's chance of injury the same in inning 1 or inning 225?", the answer is "He's no more likely to be injured in either inning.  But he's been exposed to injury in 224 previous innings."

How long will it take you to have miket33 run from WIFS?
