With these new and, ahem, improved forums ... It would make my life easier if this forum were mostly kept to results (and trash-talking, of course). I'm finding that I have to search a lot more than I used to for the previous updates I did to add new games. No need to post efforts to find each other for games unless that's easier than sitemailing, because I'm not going to be forfeiting games and trying to decide who made more of an effort.

2004 Cubbies split   we win at home against Stevy's 05 Stros  on a 2 run single in the bottom of the 9th by Jose Macias 4-3...then lost to Fish's 08 Stros 6-1 on the road...ZAMBRANO SUCKS!

I confirm the loss to soxyanks (4-3), and report a win over tropicana 6-1.  A disappointing split for the 05 Astros.

Well, perhaps not surprisingly, Tribe Deuce takes its first loss with the 2008 Pirates going down like a two dollar hooker on Navy Pier....6-1 loss.  We couldn't touch Pettite, and Maholm sucked straight *** for the first two innings, before seriously settling down.  I think our run came by RBI ground out...or something.  I don't remember.

Wow....HUUUUUUUUGE win for Team Deuce, as the Pirates take a 9-5 win over the 2004 Astros and deltagorfers (who started Oswalt).  We slaughtered Roy, scoring all nine of our runs off him in 5 innings. We hit 9 doubles, with everyone in the lineup hitting at least one...Jeff Karstens got the unimpressive win, giving up 5 runs in 5 innings, walking three and striking out none. The Pirates 'pen was surprisingly stout, walking 4 and scattering 2 hits, but allowing no runs.  Good times!!!

I comfirm those results.  Friggin Roy Oswalt couldn't even get out of the first on level ground after I scored 3 in the top of the inning.  That and a 3 run 3rd for the Pirates, + continually stranding baserunners (2 or 3 times with bases loaded) = big upset.

GENERAL RULES
(in addition to those outlined in the league description)
- Unless otherwise stated, only pitchers with half or more of their appearances in relief may be used in relief in Survivor games.
- If a player fails to get a game in by the deadline, his opponent will play against Sparky to get the game in. Any member of the other tribe or I can start the game, then exit to let Sparky manage it. The player missing the deadline (and his tribe) can get no benefit from any results obtained by Sparky.
- Most deadlines for playing/picking/voting will be midnight. That will refer to Eastern Time, and means the night of the day given. In other words, Thursday midnight means 12:00 a.m. Friday morning, strictly speaking.
- If a rule or challenge description is unclear. The spirit of the game is to clarify things, not find loopholes to take advantage of.
- I assure one and all that I will run this as objectively and fairly as I can. Do not worry that past knives in the back (hello staindman and acketyack) will be avenged here. I will wait until Survivor IV for that pleasure.
- When schedules/matchups are posted, each contestant must verify that they are correct. Any mistakes must be fixed before games are played using the team(s) in question.
- Anyone receiving a clue to a Hidden Immunity Idol will be allowed to ask me 1 yes-or-no question before the deadline for playing games, Thursday night. Each then gets one guess as to the idol, and may continue to make one guess per week until it is found. Idols can only be found once; after that, even a correct guess will do no good.

Apparently there has been some confusion about who can be used in relief. As noted in the first rule above (from page 1 of the thread), unless otherwise specified only pitchers who made half or more of their real-life appearances out of the pen can be used in relief in challenges.
