Were you aware that your astrological sign may have changed?

I didn't hear the podcast.
It does.  There are no wilting flowers in the NFL. Someone has to take charge.  Much was made of Eli taking over the huddle AFTER Barber and Shockey were gone.   He wasn't the Alpha Male of Alpha Males because they were there first and he had no idea how to take charge.
I think guys who weren't as skilled are often more educated in the ways of the game.

I don't know if it was the primary difference but it does make a difference.   All obviously had the physical skills but there's a mental side.  And, of course, the intangibles you mention.  Also, proper systems/coaches make a big difference.

All three of them were destined to fail because, IMO, they're dumb.

I heard something along that line this morning.  I haven't bothered to see if my sign changed.   I'm sure it makes no difference in who I am.

What's the safest way to go dumpster diving?

Abstain.

Would you rather go through a round of coach hiring, or go to a strip club?

My team in Clarkson has played 105 games and are out of the playoff race.  Unfortunately, the team has suffered some unexpected long term injuries and since I am in payroll hell I am unable to promote minor leaguers or sign FA's.  I have had a couple of trade offers that would lower my payroll but they are all trade rape offers.  Do I  make a deal with the devil or just suck it up and lose with a 9 man rotation?

I wouldn't accept an offer that is blatantly lopsided unless I was playing to cover some win requirements.   I'd waive some high-priced, last contract year guy and hope he gets claimed.

Just snuck a peek at my former Happy Jack team.

Agree with a lot that the guy is doing with one exception; he demoted the NL GG SS for the past two seasons.

His OPS was high .500s. He was good for 25-30 plus plays a year. Would you have done that?

I don't believe in playing sub-D SS.   But, really, it depends on who he uses in his place.   If it's some glorified 3B who'll OPS .700, no, I wouldn't have.  But if is a barely minimum SS who'll OPS .700, he probably gains more at the plate than he loses in the field.

Would you put this guy at SS assuming he's done developing?

Future development isn't part of the equation when I decide where to play a guy.  Yes, he could play SS for me.

I'd also like to have a teaching moment.   On the bottom LH of the player care, you'll see a little WiS insignia.  When you pull up a player you want to post, click it.  You'll get some message(I don't remember what it is).   Come back to the forum and click the same insignia of the post reply toolbar.   The player will be linked.

I do have a $20M pitcher that has severely underperformed his career numbers and has 4 years left at that rate.  I assume someone will claim him, will they be responsible for all the salary if I waive him?

I check it when you start recruiting because of Slammin' Sammy Davis.   I followed my old team for about half a season.   Beyond that, I don't keep tabs.

If you waive him, they are responsible for the remainder of the contract.
