I accidently clicked in here and noticed your post?

I am really curious about the bolded comment.

Why?

Have you listened to Ween? It makes sense if you have. The reasons for why most people love music, and by extension would have a favorite band, they just wouldn't lead you to list Ween as your favorite.

Because the type of person who doesn't take music seriously enough to think that Ween could be a favorite band says "I like everything."

Her answer should have been They Might Be Giants. Obvi.

What if his favorite movie was Short Circuit II?

It almost seems like some backhanded insult to say Ween is someone's favorite band.

I have no issue with them, but to say they're your favorite really is baffling. It's like saying TM is your HBD role model.
4/30/2010 10:19 AM
Agreed 100%. It is kind of funny to have such a unified stance on such an odd concept.

Kind of funny that TM was my HBD mentor my first season in $. I think it took like 3 weeks for the pupil to surpass the teacher there.

There are a couple songs I really like...but it's a distant third to Boxer and Alligator, I think. Still probably a top-ten album for the year for me, just cause I dig their sound so much, but it's far from their best of work. It's kind of moping? There was always the danger that they could slide that way, but they always threw in just enough anger to stay interesting and engaging. I think the ratio's off on this one.

That murder's row of albums I tossed out a month ago isn't holding up too well so far...Wolf Parade and the Walkmen up next.

I haven't found any good copies to download yet, but I heard it at a friend's the other day. Seemed to be a lot heavier on the reverb and white noise than previous albums. The rythym section is always really strong and this is no exception. From what I could tell on one listen, seemed like an overall solid album with no songs that me thinking that they sucked... but no songs that really stuck out to me either.

I think the copy I'm listening to is pretty good? Maybe not. I think it was just TPB or btjunkie.

To be honest though, I haven't given it the headphone treatment yet...and I probably should have.

The chorus from Vanderlye CryBaby Geeks is really, really awesome...but I feel like it's kind of wasted.

I am not an elitest about quality... if it is good enough, it is good enough. I actually hate people who are like "it needs to be lossless and 1872987326 bps compression" and all that crap.

I just can't seem to download one where the copy works.
