I signed up in ABU(with 11 others). I've sent sitemails to everyone who's signed up with every league request. I've also included warnings/recommendations in those sitemails. Not much else I can do.

And, just so everyone knows, in those recommendations I've suggested waiting until we had 10 owners sign up before joining a 2nd world.

FWIW, the owners who signed up obviously want to play. If they want to join worlds as individuals(like a handful did in Hot Stove) or as a smaller group, who am I to stand in the way?

I agree that Uecker is a variation on the original premise that Mike set forth. Uecker is one of those worlds where we usually get about 70% retention, but I see it as more of a proactive world fix. We have a few clubs that seem to change owners every couple of seasons. Uecker, I think, has the potential to be an really good World, but it needs a group of owners (even as small a group as 4) to come in, take over these open franchises, and create contenders out of them. Which would lead, hopefully, to a much higher retention rate, and hopefully boost Uecker into the top 20 (if not higher) of private worlds. We currently have a blog, but I'd like to completely revamp it and kind of re-brand Uecker. So, CoachRed, irishfury01, tbook, hatt11, if you guys come in (I have an owner committed to taking the last team, today), we could start the Uecker Project.

Hot Stove rolled and Irishfury is in it. I doubt he's still "on the list".

Briefly, I wanted a group of 10-12 owners to join at once because, quite frankly, I think a world with 10 openings has had some "funny business" in previous seasons. In order to "correct" such activity, you have to have enough owners interested in doing it. We've danced around the subject in ABU but 1 of 2 things happened in their first three seasons:

1. n00braping
2. alias work

Way too many one and done owners who got completely bent over in trade. We've had no such problem thus far and, if we do, I'm confident that it will be handled properly. If I had joined with 4 owners, I certainly wouldn't have the same confidence.

Are any of you guys willing to take a look at Rizzuto world season 11? We currently have 10 open spots. Our most since season 2 or 3 i believe. 9 of our current owners are original owners. Many others have been there for multiple seasons as well (i've been there 4 seasons). It's a fun, balenced and competitive world.

Worth a shot. Just take a quick look at it.

nomah, I'm not contacting anyone unless we have enough owners to fill a world. Getting a world down to 2-3 openings isn't in my plan.

Of my 4 teams, this is the only one that could be killed off. Which sucks, because i picked up an abandoned team, and brought it back and was planning to make a long run at the WS with it starting this season. I'll let you guys know if we get teh # down soon.

There are officially 4 spots in Uecker, so if hatt, irishfury, Coach and tbook want to join, they would fill it. If not, let me know and I'll move on.

I think I'm gonna have to take my name off the list. If I take a 7th team I'm afraid I'd be way over my head.

Sorry, Mike. I didn't realize you had already filled one league. I think foolsgold has been pretty aggressive jumping in here trying to fill Uecker when it's not really a world in danger. But it seems to me that that's a good commissioner fighting for his world. What the hell. I'm a Cardinal fan from WAY back. I love Bob Uecker. Send me the password and I'm in.

Coachred, if you're looking for a real challenging rebuild, consider the team in Uecker's AL West. Its easily been the most mismanaged team since S1, and is in a very tough division with the Commish, myself and a third very active, experienced owner (but new to Uecker). Or you can just go to either of the 2 NL teams available where it seems everyone has a shot at the playoffs each year, parity prevails!

Damn I want a challenge, but I despise the AL and the stupid DH. I'll look over all three teams and get in some time later tonight.
