Sounds like someone fell in love with their A-K. An 8-7-3 flop looks good for pocket 6s. Any pair heads up is playable. No As or Ks on the board and you're wondering why the low stack went all-in?
No. I would have never called the bet if he had been the one betting. I acted first each time, escalating the betting and he kept calling. My read was that he had a small pair. I thought it was the seven, and I was trying to represent having more than that. I made the read correctly, but a small pair was still better than what I had, so he made the correct call. I knew I could not win the hand without forcing him to fold. He didn't fold, and I lost.
I was also banking on the fact that the last time he called me all the way down I had Kings full to his 8s full, so I was trying to play on that credibility and it didn't work.
