I think the problem relates to teams drafting ahead of skinndogg drafting pitchers and the chain assigns him the pitcher. It may not happen, but if it does he cannot submit a roster with 14 pitchers. The WIS won’t allow it. This is a quirk of the theme. He would need to select 13 pitchers to keep and select a hitter to finalize his roster. What is the logic of penalizing him and requiring him to take a scrub. As long as he is under $120K with his roster he’s playing within the rules.

I still don’t know what you’re trying to say. He’ll get his 14 pitchers. One will be drafted as a AAA player. You can draft real players as AAA options. An extra scrub hitter will be drafted to send to AAA when he calls that 14th pitcher up. That extra hitter will never be used. Drafting a scrub just ensures that.

Cannot roster 14 pitchers. I could be wrong, but he can’t “call up” a 14th pitcher. Not my problem - wait and see if it happens.

Yes you can. You can’t DRAFT 14 pitchers. But you can have 14 after the season starts. I don’t know why it’s still limited to 13 in the draft center though. It’s dumb.

If somebody throws me a hitter I pick a pitcher, & vice versa. Best way to stay out of trouble.

Thanks. So there are only 3 rounds left. Meaning there are only 3 more players that can be assigned to you. skinndogg is the only one in jeopardy but as long as all 3 aren’t pitchers, he’s fine. And since he gets my pick next, I can guarantee he won’t get 14 unless he picks more himself.

Maybe offer a round of trades if that happens?

It won't come to that. But to be fair...skinndogg took pitchers in rounds 6-8, two of those after receiving a pitcher from the previous owner. Part of the challenge of this theme is looking at the makeup of your current roster and trying to manage things based on what might happen in the next few rounds.

I played in a golf fund raiser about 25 years ago to support a healthcare organization (my employer at the time) located in Washington DC. We paired up with the MLB Alumni Association and they would provide 35-40 golfers to play with each group. Many of the players were ex-Senators or Orioles that still lived in the area, but we also got a pretty good share of greats - Feller, Stargell, Bobby Tolan, Brooks and my favorite who I played with one year, Mickey Vernon. At the reception following golf, folks were questioning Brooks about his most feared batters while playing 3rd and he rattled off a few names. Someone followed up and asked him if he was "scared" when Frank Howard stepped in the box. In true Brooks form he replied "Nope, but he made me mighty nervous." True story.

Brooks was one hell of a 3rd baseman and one of the nicest guys on the planet.

My nephew met Brooks Robinson years ago at a card show -and told me what a nice guy he was.

Another useless Brooks Robinson fact. The Scout found him in a church league.
