No, I make roster decisions based on ratings.   However, reasonably early in the season, I start making staff adjustments based on stats.
I compare WHIP/ERA/OAV.   If the ERA doesn't match up with the WHIP/OAV, I try to find out why.  Usually it's a crazy amount of homers.

I didn't watch the Pro Bowl(nor do I know the final score) but I've heard they didn't even bother to play D.

What is a solid ML ERA and OAV?

It's world, field and role related.    As a ballpark number, I'd say anything below 3.50 and .240 is outstanding.    But, if you're in a hitter's park, you aren't getting those numbers from too many pitchers.   And I'm a lot more tolerant of my SP5 with a 4.50/.268 than I am with my SP1.

No, you can only carry 25 into the playoffs.   Anyone on your 40 at the time of roster expansion is eligible(they did not have to be on your 25 at any point).  You can change the 25 between series.
