I don't think frequent any other message boards but my guess is WifS has the whiniest collection of members known to man. I do know that the percentage of whiners at WifS greatly exceeds my RL experience with whiners.

Do you think the volume of whiners (both definitions of "volume" apply here) is due to WIS bending to their whining whims as long as they complain for long enough about it?

Yes, that is a contributing factor. I think many would still whine but maybe they'd whine less and, in all likelihood, the borderline whiners wouldn't bother.

what's the difference between whining about the game and suggesting ways it could be improved....besides the semantic distinction that enables so many people here to distinguish themselves apart from the whiners, giving them a sketchy sense of pride, that is?

Whining generally involves how the program/system has affected you as an individual. The whiners generally ignore any evidence that the program/system is working but it just hasn't worked for them. To be clear, most of us whine a little. Some just take it to another level.
