STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS 2009-10 Topic

I only saw the first half of the game because I had to get up at 4 am, but the word I got is that the Hawks finally played some excellent defense. I think we've won 5 of our last 6 and may finally be getting some continuity. When Pisani, Hossa and Kane come back, it may serve to get is back to where we can compete each night, rather than the up and down play we've seen.

Crawford has been the most impressive hawk lately... imo. He's making some spectacular saves despite the hawks lackluster d in front of him.
I...agree...completely for once lol.

Decent game last night...the refs only cost us 1 point with that blown call on the Stalberg goal.

I think stalberg looked offside anyway...terrible sequence all around for the on ice officials...they played ok but I'd like to see more from guys like Troy Brouwer and Dave Bolland.

Bolland has picked it up a bit, but Brouwer just doesn't play with intensity every night.

What a shameful collapse last night.  I was only able to catch the 3rd and was sickened by the end of that game.  The tying goal was a joke that should have been stopped and the GW was off a pathetic turnover by Seabrook.  Not to mention that Toews hit the post moments before the tying goal.....that would have wrapped it up.  What a damn waste of two points.

Don't get too upset Tony, it's been ordained by the 'tards that the Hawks will not make the playoffs - relax and just have fun watching the Blackhawks collapse.

Brouwer finally broke out last night...too bad Turco and most of the team decided to take the first period off. I wonder what coach Q is thinking at this point. I don't like questioning him because he's proven to be a fantastic coach in the NHL, but I noticed guys like Morin, Stalberg and Skille played under 14 minutes while Jake Dowell got 17. In a 7-5 game, that just doesn't make too much sense to me.

You know, the more I see of Jeremy Morin, the more he reminds me a little of another Jeremy who wore #27 for the Hawks. He plays with intensity, is a tenacious forechecker and has great hands to boot. A ton of upside there, which will help to justify the Atlanta trade long-term.

I meant took the 1st off defensively afcorse...

Jake Dowell has been playing well and deserves the minutes he's been getting.  Stalberg has been so inconsistent it's mind-boggling.  I agree about Morin....the kid has oodles of skill and just needs playing time to really become a force.

Another suckass loss to a team we should have beaten quite easily.  When stiffs score hat tricks against you, it may not be your day, week, month or season.

I may as well pay nickhead that $20 now the way things are going.

Again, it's december. I'll reserve judgement until AT LEAST the all-star game. On a brighter note, finally some good news as Kane might be good to go tomorrow against the Wings.

Am I reading the standings correctly.... the canucks are doing better than the hawks?
12/17/2010 7:38 AM
That was expected...I picked the Canucks to win the West from day 1. I believe I had the Hawks 4th, but I could be mistaken.
12/17/2010 8:38 AM
The good news for the hawks is they can't get much worse from here... 12th place of 15 teams in the west.
