Is it an inevitable result of the new forums that obtuse people like apollo7 and pstrnutbag start getting more and more opinionated?
6/24/2010 5:21 PM
Does re-todd really think that phenomenon is isolated to the new forums?
6/24/2010 5:25 PM
Do you pay any attention to the position and pitcher reports?

Which is the more impressive bloody sock:

Curt Schilling's (faked with pig blood) during the 2004 ALCS:

Or mine (with my own blood) from golf this past Tuesday night?

I'll be honest, I don't know why the dumbasses are out in full force.  I expect it when summer comes and the kids are out of school but I don't know about those two.

He may.

I glance at them but I have a note with my true prospects(so there's a yellow notepad by their name).  That tells me who needs to be promoted.

I'm gonna have to say this:   I just finished cutting the front yard.  I twig or something flew out from underneath the mower and cut my leg.  I'm almost certain I lost more blood than either of you.  And I felt no need to take a photo of it.  And, for the record, it looks like some other dude is standing awful close to you.  Quit 'moing up my thread.

Could that possibly be Curt Schilling next to Tec?

Also, are you honored in anyway that my 100th post in the new forum is in this thread?

why hasn't anyone started an "ask wylie715 a question" thread?  Should I be insulted?

It may be.  Schilling has nothing else to do.  He was probably mocking tec's tiny cut.
Of course I am.

Because you have no answers.   No.

Is continued minor league success (90-100 win seasons) a function of a good system, too much average depth, or is it an overexpenditure of resources compared to those teams with only top prospects and cheap filler?
6/25/2010 8:10 AM
I think it's a good system.  However, it can easily be poor management.   If you're not promoting your prospects properly, they'll destroy the turds in HiA.  For the most part, however, you can win 70+ by simply having full rosters and decent defense.    Also, I look at minor league success as a way to develop players.  You can get in the neighborhood of an extra 20 games, with plenty of rest to play starters, by running thru the playoffs.  20 games is an additional 7 starts for a SP or 75+ AB for position players.   Three seasons of that is half a minor league season.

I think people who enter this particular thread read my posts in this particular thread.   I can't really say about the other threads.  I like to think some of my posts are entertaining or informative.   And I know I have plenty of haters.  However, and many people fail to realize this, it doesn't really matter.  This is a forum for a sports simgame on the internet.   What's posted shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Goddammit.  A)  that's not a question  B) you stole my friggin' thunder.   I'll be glad when sergie skidmarks you for that.

You can check but I think they had a lot of openings one season(check their standings.  No * indicates that owner didn't renew).   I know they were really struggling to fill one time.   I don't really know leaffan, sounds like he's a filthy canuck, but I also don't know him to be a liar.   As I said, I'm familiar with several of the owners.  If they had a problem, I'm sure they handled it quickly and properly.

If you see a team that hasn't cracked .400 in 4 seasons about 100K short of the cap with 3 $10M+ players on the trade block, would you assume fire sale?

When it turns out it isn't and he roasts you for assuming so, should you accept the *** u me rule?
