I wouldn't call him my hero but we might be cousins.   It's good to know I'm not the only person who thinks that way.   Same goes for Rapelisberger and Ray Lewis.

I knew they set a league record with 25 straight losses.   But ESPN radio has been too busy reporting on Carmelo Anthony for the last week to talk about anything else.   This is one reason I hate the NBA.   Team news can't get any play because individual player news dominates the sport.   I blame Michael Jordon.

Jordan ushered in the "LOOK AT ME!!! LOOK AT ME!!!!!" era in the NBA.   ESPN can shoulder some of the blame too.

How much do you offer your arb players? I thought it was 80% of the demands but I've lost twice now offering the 80.

From a purely marketing standpoint, would the NHL be better off going back to the days of bench clearing brawls a la Slap Shot, or were they right to get rid of it?

I look at league average and offer somewhere in that ballpark. 

Whether anyone will admit it or not, people like fights.   They like them in football, they like them in baseball, they like them in basketball, they'd love to see Tiger and Lefty duke it out on the 18th hole.  Hell, most people would stop and watch a bum fight.   So, it stands to reason, they like them in hockey.  At least in America.   I think, from a marketing standpoint, they have to sell the game and not the fights.   But it was probably a bad move to attempt to legislate out the brawls.

In the amateur draft order, why do they label a column "Former Franchise" when it shows the current franchise of the player in question?

Former franchise refers to the team the pick belonged to not the player.
