Media-driven.   No one would know he was in sports if not for the occassional crazyass news conference.  You've got footbal players raping women and killing dogs.  NBA players thinking they are the most important people on the planet.   Baseball players getting fed by the girfriend on TV.   Hockey players, uh, well, they're probably doing something but we don't know who they are nor do we care what they do.    So I call bullshit on that poll.

I've never been forced to follow Al Davis as he's an owner.  But I've claimed the  Raiders as my favorite team since '72.  Before that, they were my "AFC team".  Anyway, I've liked Davis over the years.   The first time I questioned his sanity was the Kiffin firing press conference.  But, in the end, Kiffin has proven to be a weasel.

We're seeing an incrreased amount of lock escalation on a particular table during the production batch cycle for one of our applications.  This in turn is leading to an increased number of -911 lock timesouts and/or deadlocks.  I've tried dumping the dynamic SQL cache and looking at the statements against this particular table, and I've also run the db2advis command against the cached workload looking for indexing opportunities, but nothing is jumping out at me as the cause of the problem.

Any suggestions?  Should we just keep increasing the size of the locklist and hope for the best?
