While he's a quality d-man, this is probably a precursor for another move, unfortunately probably involving Letang or Goligoski for a scoring winger.

i like leopold chuck. he played great when he was in calgary. i think it's a decent pickup. :>

He did look good against Buffalo. McKee has been struggling lately. Hated to give up Caputi, as he brought a ton of energy and spark when he played, but I understand it would have been tough for him to crack the lineup anyway. Not wild about Poni, but hopefully playing with Malkin will spark him to give 100% every night.

I'm just glad we didn't part with Letang or Goligoski. The price seemed very high for rental players this year. I think with the moves we made (along with New Jersey), we have one of the top teams in the conference. I personally feel the Caps and Flyers did nothing to improve themselves, instead, they made themselves weaker. The Pens skated rings around Corvo in last years playoffs. I'd love to see another Pens-Caps rematch just to shut Leonsis up again!

The Pens did alright...primed for another run...can Crosby keep it going?...he`s played a lot in the last 3yrs...agreed on Philly and Caps....no goaltending....the Sabres may be their toughest opp. in the East...well maybe the Devils if Kovalchuk works out...I think Poni will play with Crosby?

Coach B is saying he loves the chemistry of the Crosby-Kunitz-Guerin line, and he's putting Pony on a line with Feds and Malkin. CDB is saying we have two number one lines now, and that you will have a hard time stopping line 1, but you'll have even a harder time stopping 1 and 1A. Poni and Fedetenko have been friends since they were 5, so hopefully there will be some chemistry between them.

WOW! What a game tonight. 55 SOG, only 1 given up in the 3rd (I think). Lundquist stood on his head tonight. We should have scored 10 goals.

Fleury looked very rusty.

Offense should just get better too once AP arrives. Scary.

It is a fact that Poni will be playing with Malkin and Feds. The question is.....who's gonna sit? I could just imagine next year if Tangradi works out and we keep Poni. Tangradi/Malkin/Poni.....that would be a big bruising line. Malkin really needs someone who backchecks due to his frequent give-a-ways.

I'm not so sure they will be able to fit Poni in under the cap next year.

But assuming Guerin hangs em up or goes elsewhere...

Top 6 of Crosby, Malkin, Kunitz, Poni.....will Tangradi be ready? Would they consider permanently moving Malkin to wing and have Staal center the 2nd? I really think Kennedy should be the RW2 by next year.

Seems like most of the dominos won't fall into place until they choose between Gonchar and Letang.

I haven't played with this at all yet (haven't visited the site in a while, had no idea they overhauled it), but could be fun to try a couple of different scenarios:

If you let Gonch, Guerin, Eaton, Feds and Cooke all walk, you've got some cap room. But how do you fill those spots?

5 NHL D-men up at the end of the year. Would love to see Leopold and Poni re-signed, but with so much tied up down the middle (Crosby/Malkin/Staal/Fleury), piecing together the rest of the roster is a challenge every season.
