Upcoming Recruiting Changes Topic

Sign 2 FR Ineligibles, Sign 6 FR and one SO to RS, Sign a JUCO 2 to RS. Rinse and repeat. I asked that question almost word for word and I really hope it gets answered. Finally put this thing to rest.

Next changes up, limiting the amount of SF's you can have on one team, the ivy league will not have a CT, BYU will no longer play games on sunday, limiting the amount of campus visits a recruit can make, and limiting you from giving 100% distro to one player on your team.

Also, scholarships will not be given at D3 schools to more closely mimic real life.

LOL! I GOT IT!

Sign 6 FR and leave 2 spots open. SIGN THE WALK-ONS! 8 FR RIGHT THERE BABY!

Can't wait to try it.

My favorite question I asked that will undoubtably go unanswered is, why is this change being made now instead of 20 seasons ago when godmaker was winning the NT with 12 SR's?

Assume logic will be in place to prevent you from signing the walk-ons. Much like you can only cut so many players from a team in one season.

I unfortunately won't be there for the developer chat.

This part bothers me:
"As the start of the signing period approaches, interest in a school will begin to decrease until the school makes a scholarship offer."

So, will interest still increase after signing period as recruits get desperate and drop down? Or will interest continue to wane until the school offers?

Does this mean a lesser-prestige school has a shot at outrecruiting a higher-prestige school simply by offering a scholly while the higher prestige school waits for other players to drop and such? Sounds like it.

AI schools will continue recruiting after signings begin and only go after undecided recruits

it seems changes are being made just to screw with the enjoyablility of the game... One of my favorite things to do was scour the unsigned lists after being beaten on a top recruit of two. Now this will be more difficult to do.. I guess it improves realism, but I really dont lke it. What it means in reality is that drop downs will be harder to get (few chances after signings start) and that coaches who get beaten will no longer have as many fallback optoins.

All that means is if a recruit is considering you, once signings start if you haven't offered him a 'ship he will slowly lose interest. Not sure why its that hard to understand.

Do you guys think that the $ for 6 scholly cap should still exist? Since you won't be able to sign a "superclass" I think that cap should disappear to help teams out who lose players unexpectably to the NBA draft and get stuck with 7 openings or help out someone who takes on a project team with 7 or more openings.

Since they can only sign 6 FR, I do not see much of a reason to limit $ like before.

JUCO's are going to be a really hot commodity for the next few seasons. I hope they take that into account when they generate recruits.

I agree with you pork. The cap should disappear.

Also, pork Ididn't think they created any JuCos. Aren't they always just last years overs?

Hi everyone...

Hi jay! Heck of a topic to jump in on for a new guy, lol.

zhawks, it was my understanding that a large % of JUCO2's were generated and that JUCO1's were the ones over from the previous season's recruiting. Could be wrong.

This is one of those questions I have that will go unanswered and is really something all of us would benefit from.

If Admin is paying attention, please consider eliminating the $ for 6 scholly rule permanently and generating more JUCO2's for the next few seasons to get all of us former felons with more then 6 openings caught up.

I don't read it like that, since it says "as the START of signing period approaches" not the signing deadline.

So it might be a couple cycles before signings start. I'm sure they won't give us an exact cycle (ie the considering credit) but I don't see how big of a deal it is. If you want the guy he should have had a 'ship offer from the first cycle.

pork, there's a major difference.

It's not simply that it's unrealistic; it's that it's unrealistic leading to a large competitive advantage and an overall detriment to HD. The other things on your list don't bring the negatives with them. Two very different things.
