Discussion of the trade veto. Topic

If a world operates under this kind of veto system, why doesn't nearly every trade get vetoed. Given two experienced owners, one can assume that any trade benefits both teams... And therefore they should all be vetoed if doing so for a competitive reason is a valid system for governing the use of a veto.

You aren't cashing in your reward points and moving on. I know it. You know it.

mike, how you expect to know anything about me from a handful of forum posts is beyond me..

Because, if you were going to leave, you'd just do it. You aren't "just doing it". You're looking for sympathy or change.

that goes back to my original point. I'd like a better way of identifying which of the varying opinions each world is operating on...
Maybe you should have done some more research when joining?

You clearly didn't even take note of who was running the friggin' league....

You can see where this is full of ****, right?

Are you just being dense on purpose?

Okay, fine... I'll bite: No, one cannot assume that any trade benefits both teams.

There, I said it.

I was operating under the assumption that my views on vetoes were at least commonly held, and I'm finding that might not be the case. If I'm in the minority, i would consider leaving. I'm trying to ascertain what the reality is. Hence, the reason for this post in the first place.

As far as knowing what a league's general stance is, I admit I should have done more research. I'm realizing that now. I was suggesting a tweak to the system that makes it easier to find out the league's view other than polling each owner on their opinion...

No, I'm not being dense on purpose. Yes, it's an extreme application of that situation. I was using it to highlight the grey area between what is acceptable to veto and what is not given that line of thinking...

You will not leave. I'm serious. You will be in that world next season.

It might be worth mentioning that the veto-happy posters in this thread (for the most part) play in a lot of the same worlds.

There are something like 180 worlds.

I'm sure you can find one to suit your tastes. :)

No, until YOU get married.

I still get to decide all kinds of things my wife doesn't care about. :)

I can gurantee I will not be in that league next season. I'll probably be able to find a league to continue playing in, as my other leagues seem to feel similarily to me.

In fact mike, If a reattempt at the deal gets vetoed... I'll give you the team during spring training this season in exchange for whatever franchise of yours you'd like.
11/18/2009 2:01 PM
Scratch that. I'll give it to the first person who tells me how brilliant my points have been. ;)

I have no interest in your team. If the re-attempt of the deal doesn't get vetoed, it's a complete 'tard league.
