Well, to some extent WIS should accomodate coaches because we are their paying customers.

But I think ultimately they need to make their schedule to reduce the number of tickets about this that they receive (or make the response to any tickets super easy - just a reference to their yearly holiday schedule, etc.) and to eliminate the need for people to complain about this every holiday season. Either way there are going to be upset customers, whether they need to recruit on Christmas Eve or if they have to wait 2 more days to start recruiting. Having a published schedule in advance eliminates this discussion.

Ultimately I'm with aporter - I'm fine with recruiting starting whenever they say it it will, and then deal with it. If that means I need do all recruiting on my phone, take lots of photos and upload them every 3-6 hours or just not start recruiting until the 3rd day and being fine with that.

agree 100% about extending the first cycle. having it be the shortest cycle makes absolutely no sense. its like admin never actually played d1 himself...

Well, I think it's ridiculous to expect grown individuals to pay attention to a computer for five minutes every three hours rather than spend time with their families during the holidays. I don't play in a world where recruiting is starting on the 24th, but if I were, I'd certainly be ******** to WIS about it.

What about day 2 of recruiting? What about signing day? Aren't those just as important? What about the day after signings? Isn't that an important day for DIII dropdowns??

And do you take vacations? What do you do when you are on vacation? Ask WIS to move recruiting?

There will always be inconveniences. If you play HD you just need to understand there may be time conflicts at some point.

This did happen several (3 or 4?) years ago for Christmas or New Years. Not realistic to expect anyone to cough up the specific dates though (I'd be both impressed and concerned if someone not working for WIS actually could do this). I think I was coaching at Hillsdale in Crum so that was quite a while back...

This would fix some issues but my gut feeling is then we'd have a block of customers complaining they have to wait 12 or 24 hours for their recruiting fix results to come in. Can't please everyone they say...so while I'd love to see this change I'm guessing CS will take the safest route and just let the chips fall where they may.
When we have hoilidays though I am always on the lookout for unexpected patterns as some will by necessity have to start late and so there will be more "claims" of "poaching" (otherwise known as the "I already licked that candy so you better leave it alone because I have germs!" school of recruiting.).

There's a little bit of a difference between a vacation and a religious holiday, don't you think? Let's not be obtuse.

js, maybe if you started to put NW above your family, you'd have a NT there by now.

But I will say that I don't think they should move recruiting. It's the same for everyone. If it's five minutes, it shouldn't be that big a deal.

Exactly what they decided to go with. "Quick note: Everything will run as scheduled over the holidays, including games, recruiting, etc."

hmm... ok maybe that wasn't your argument. but whoevers it was, i maintain my statement. i can't remember whose names are what. i thought that I_est... was you dalter, because they are part of the ECC rupp project, but now that i think about it, i think that was somebody else.

Nope, not my argument, lol. I was on TK to extend the first cycle going back a couple years.
