Sometimes when I'm putting oranges in the sauerkraut, I think of my thoughts and they make me laugh

An unforeseen blip in the OTRs is probably going to damn that kind or ranking, probably much to all of your delights.

I noticed today that some guys have already their team/transferred, thus throwing off the OTRs of teams that have transfers. I don't think any of my opponents did, however, I would have to go back and double check.

So in the end, you guys might just all get what you wished for lol.

I recorded OTRs before the season ended for that reason - sorry, should have warned folks

expect to send spreadsheet soon

Ok, thanks for the info, do players stop "practicing" in the game sense once the CT starts?

The simplist of things kills your rankings? If you understood HD and how it worked you'd know that this is oh so easily avoidable.

I believe they stop at or near the end of the CT, have never bothered to study closely

And I was checking my opponents and NM Highlands had a transfer *sigh*...this may in fact be the beginning of the end of the OTR SOS ranking.

the vast majority of transfers had promises broken to them, which generally means they were not primary contributors to the team. the margin of error from assuming their rating is say equal to the lowest on the team, or 3rd lowest, or any approximation really because it is a rare case, is much less than the margin of error of using overall ratings.

but, if you were hoping to apply this to d1, early entries being excluded would basically make the system 100% useless. however, conceptually, i don't think anybody has a problem if you limit your experiment to d2/d3

I don't care what the guy's rating was that ...I understand you saying it would probably only down-skew the teams OTR, but that's what the OTR was with the complete team, not 11 or 10 12ths of it. I might be admitting defeat as far as the OTRs go, very shortly.

departures simply mean that OTR info would need to be recorded during the NCAA tourny

what are you saying the problem is colonels? dealing with the difference in the data format of having 11 players? or the effect transfers have on overall rating?

The transfers effect on overall rating...except for metsmax's entry, that's probably going to damn the OTRs for this year, especially in my case.
