Why do you say McAdoo's best value is at the three?

Not disagreeing, just trying to learn...

I would say that it's because he scores, which you want from your 3, and he rebounds, which you can find at the 4 and 5. . .putting him @ the 3 allows you more flexibility in the type of 4/5 you pick.

this basically - put simply you can have a 3 who boards and blocks like a 4 and still have a 4 which in a league where you have such stacked front lines is no small thing - in your case it seems to me Marshall and McAdoo can perform similar roles - one is going to be a good rebounding SF and the other a mediocre rebounding PF - probably your best bet is to go with the most expensive McAdoo at the PF which will work well with defensive rebounding (24%) but between the two your offensive rebounding is going to come up a little light (8%, 9%, +??)

that said there's a lot to like about the combo offensively in terms of medium/perimeter balance

Interesting. Thanks guys!

I do think I need to address some OREB at some point. We'll see what comes around my way...

Is it good or bad that no one bothered to comment on my team?

Don't worry, jtred, I think that we're obligated team reviews by someone at some point, per the league tradition.

I know, I'm just curious to see what everyone thinks of my latest no-fail wis strategery.

your perimeter players wont exactly spread the floor but you certainly have some efficiency options

stockton is incredible, especially in a $52 million draft.

erving I'm indifferent on... his really good rebounding seasons are high turnover/high foul and no use at SG, whereas his SG available seasons are almost strictly mid-range, which is nothing special to me. I like Paint, and I like Perimeter. Some positions I'm more flexible on than others, but if you play the 2 or the 3, you'd better be giving me a lot of 3s (unless I've got a PG that shoots a bunch of threes, or a power forward, AND the other of the 2/3 does the same). Instead, you've got Stockton (who some seasons will give you a few) and Maxwell (who is a great player, and a great player in the sim, but isn't going to make up your need for 3s). Personally, I don't see the chemistry of the three. I guess it greatly depends on what Dr. J you end up using and who else you pick.

(also, another bummer about dr. j's rebounding is like monkee said about mcadoo - good for a SF (and great for a SG), but meh for a PF). On the bright side, there are a lot of centers that you can platoon to pick up the rebounding slack, and about 87-billion shooting guards that can give you a lot of threes. Not so many good rebounding, 3-point shooting pfs, though.

I'm really really liking 98's team. . .great shotblocking/defense and very very efficient scoring. Grab someone to help Boozer on the boards and someone to stretch the floor? Golden. I can't get over how good that 08 season of wade is - he lead my ODL squad in points, assists, steals, and blocks.

Okay, draft doctors...what does my crew need?
1/20/2010 4:14 PM
yea im a big fan of boozer too.....his 06-07 season is amazing...short on mins but he does so much in that time....scores on a high%, rebounds very very well, and even dishes out some assists....i have him in the gym rat league and hes been the team mvp on a good jazz squad
1/20/2010 4:15 PM
You don't have to remind me of that Jazz squad, dh. -_-

On to you, ltb: Nater and Howard provide some efficient scoring (but not much of it), and great great rebounding/defense. That being said, they both foul a fair amount and you still have some PF/C minutes to fill. I've never even sniffed at DWill, but after checking him out I now understand why he's a top 50-75 pick in these leagues. He also scores efficiently and adds a few threes. My question is: is someone going to step up and carry the scoring load, or are you going to continue the balanced approach? If you are going to get a prime scorer, can he stretch the floor?

As deke would say, brad:

"Brook. Come here, Brook. Do what you do, Brook. Do what you do!"

(exchange brook for brad)

I like where you're going.
Stay the hell away from my other wing player!
