Damn, how many people had a max offer out on this guy? I had the max offered along with a NTC and player option. Does that give me the right to cry like a little girl as well?

No, but it probably gives you the right to question why the game apparantly isn't working how WIS says it should and ask them to review their logic for the betterment of the overall game.

How is it for the betterment of the game? Maybe the fake baseball player has a hot piece of tail nobody knows about in a certain city and chose it for that reason.

CS says that he signed with atlanta cause of the ballpark and the no trade is meaningless. you can never trust CS, but i suppose it's possible since atlanta is slightly more amenable to pitchers than toronto, richmond, and cincy. so that narrows it down to two possibilites

1) a NTC is inaccuractely viewed as a negative and CS is too lazy to look into it
2) NTC's have zero value, and the FAQ is incorrect as ballpark is the first tiebreaker.

either way, the moral of the story is: never hand out no trade clauses.

Jerry Glover had several healthy seasons for me. He's due for a massive career-ending aneurysm.

I guess giving accurate answers in an FAQ section designed to help people learn the game is a good thing in my mind, while demonstrating that you don't understand how your own product actually works and giving completely false information is a bad thing, but that's just me.

The opportunity to get an example of something not working properly (i.e. when users submit tickets) is one of the best ways to evaluate a product and potentially fix it. Or you could just ignore it and pass it off...I have an opinion on which process would improve the game over time and which wouldn't, but maybe it's just me.

well, seeing that the two biggest contracts i've ever given out resulted in 60 day DL stints in the first or second season, he would probably already have a torn rotator cuff for me.

I would go for (2), except that I would guess that the NTC has value if and only if the player asks for it. Just a guess, though.

spot on, you are, dedelman. i just got a full explanation- some players care about the NTC, other don't. jerry glover didn't.

the bug was that the entire franchise history of pitching coaches were considered instead of just this season.
2/9/2010 4:44 PM
When you think about it, pitching coaches should have NO effect on the decision making process of anyone older than 27, the alleged peak of a player's skills.

In fact, it would be more attractive to a FA to have $20M in medical/training than a good PitchingCoach, since we've been told that PC only affect development, and 29 year olds don't develop.
2/9/2010 5:24 PM
disagreed.

glover added 2 pts to his control in his age 28 season- older players can have minor improvements along the way. and by your logic, there's no point of even having an ML pitching coach if your entire staff is 27 or older.

this just gives a small extra purpose to ML coaches. training already does more than enough, and it would be biased against users in their 1st or 2nd season in the league who can't max that stuff out.
