my point exactly bugface, its just absurd to give someone a second chance to correct a gameplan. How many +'s will now go to -'s, double teams applied and taken off, distro shifted, ect ect. I have never seen something like this

This is crap, and I'm not even in that world. If I won those 2 games, then had to replay it and lost 2 rounds sooner then I really did I'd be out the door. I hope you got something in mind to make it right to these coaches who are getting screwed. Doesn't have to be the entire world, but this is really a slap in the face to the teams in the NT.

still think the best and fairest option is to fix it at the end of the season on the ratings and just go from here on out... to rerun it really messes up the winning teams game planning..

idk what they just did, but every knight team is now 0-0.

Edit - just the NT teams it looks like.
5/26/2010 8:59 PM
Right now I can't get to my team page in Knight; I just get that error message with the red X.

FWIW, I did notice some ratings declines while game-planning this morning for the "pm" (elite eight) games but did not notice any last night before "am" (sweet sixteen) games. I doubt I would have missed them, as one gets to know those numbers pretty damn well at this time of year (when they are not changing). Also when you have a lot of young players as I do you are constantly aware of changes to their ratings. Anyway, maybe I'm wrong but I don't believe this happened before the "am" games.

Now maybe that is self-serving because I won the am game and lost the pm game. But either way I don't believe it's fair to replay any of the games. Taking away two wins from teams that made the final four seems like a very disproportionate response to the problems caused by the variation of a few points here and a few there. Winning a game I had lost in this circumstance would feel like petty larceny; and I would think winning the NT if you originally went out in the sweet sixteen or elite eight would feel more like grand larceny. (I am not referring to the issue of lost or gained credits, but I would think whatif should grant all players the higher of whatever they earned before and after the glitch.)

Now they have reset the sweet sixteen games to be played Friday "am"; however, I'm certain that my RPI and SOS are what they were after my elite eight loss, and also that my ratings have not changed from the flawed ones of this morning.

total crap...game plans should at least be locked.

It is biased since I won, but that was my thoughts exactly when I tried to put myself in the other person's shoes that lost a game. I would not want my first National title to be tarnished by winning it cause Moravian didn't make it to the finals after getting knocked out in the sweet 16 on another teams second try... cause i know if i play Moravian in the finals, he would mow me yet again.

As many have done, it's probably a good idea if the opposing coaches sitemail to discuss gameplan concerns. I doubt the original distros, +/-, etc. were preserved and probably wouldn't be "locked in" even if they were.

Very unfortunate for everyone involved, but sh-t happens.

I've fixed everything but the player ratings (will do so shortly). Games have been reschedule for Friday morning to give everyone time to gameplan. I know this sucks if you won games today, but since the ratings changed, those aren't necessarily valid wins.

As for having a second chance to gameplan, that doesn't really hold water to me. You have no idea if your opponent will change their gameplan or keep it the same. So you don't have any more knowledge than you would have the first run.

This is unprecedentedly horrific...just saying...again re-running tournament games...unreal...

You're stealing tournament wins from people, and you don't seem to care.

So you don't have any more knowledge than you would have the first run. This is a weak excuse for you not wanting to do this, or perhaps you can't do it...I'd actually put my money on both.

Why would a winning team change a game plan that set them up to win the first game... I took the time to research a lot of different things about my team and my opponents team to come to my conclusion on my game plan... one that may not have been a game plan they were expecting.

Creating two wrongs to make a right doesn't hold water with me.
5/26/2010 9:36 PM
Well, if you lost to a team because of a bad distro or double team on your part you probably wouldn't do it again.

Plus, I'm almost certain the ratings didn't change until sometime this AM.

Too me what really sucks is if you won games against better teams it's hard to think it will happen again.
5/26/2010 9:40 PM
and why would someone regameplan for the second game seble? did they pick their second best game plan for the first game... tell me where that makes sense... ridiculous. They are going to regameplan if they lost because they lost the first game... why would being able to regameplan hold any valid argument?
