well, i grew up playing "soccer", and really enjoyed it. it was not at all treated the same here in the US as the other big sports. its really a second class citizen when it comes to sports, and it is the biggest sport in many other countries by far. so i have kind of always thought of football as a non US sport, and thus, never rooted for them in the world cup (i did a little just because its where i live but not much). i do root for the US in the olympics etc, so i do see where you guys are coming from.
