My 2 cents here. Mateo (I'm assuming he's the high A SS) isn't that great of player but it does look like he might have a decent glove, although at 23 he might not quite get to be a good MLB SS. He's in his 3rd season of High A. he's 23. The other owner may have just assumed he had stalled for you and a trade might help you both. Sheeesh, he make a suggestion you said no. No harm done...and it doesn't look like it was gong to cost you that much down the line. I'm a relative newby, too...but part of the growing process is learning to say no or yes to these kind of deals. You might have counter offered and said that you would trade mateo (if he was the guy) for a particular player of his. Let him sweat it.
