I guess I'll be rather honest here...I don't really care for antonsirius...guy wants to fight every time he posts in response to me, and that's what we do.  He comes off as very pompous and arrogant to me *insert 'irony' statements here* and seems to disagree and oppose me just because he thinks he's smarter than I am, and again, to want me to take the high road in these instances when I'll be the only one to do so...that's not happening.  Again, rightly or wrongly, I will not be the nice guy in the midst of a bunch of guys trying to pound their chests and say that they're right...that's not my nature.  I won't back down if I think I'm right, regardless of how many people disagree with me and for what reasons.  You have hard evidence, that's a different story...I'll talk in concrete, but not in houses made of popsicle sticks.

Again, I think there's an expectation that I should come in here, be humble and apologetic, friendly and nice, but by the same token, you all that think I should do this don't hold yourself to that same standard, so again I say to myself, why should I be the "nice" guy when I'm going to get railed at either way?  There is no point, because in the end, I guess I don't really care if you like me or not, and if you don't like me even more because of this post then so be it, but I hope you'd at least read the message.  Stop trying to change me and learn how to deal with me...a little concession on both ends would go a long way, that I know.

i agree. you've managed to be civil at times, and have actually had some good exchanges. don't you think that worked better for you?

Where my posts/conversations are taken aren't always up to me...it's the response/reaction that begets my response/reaction.  I'd like them all to be civil, but let's be honest, that's just not happening...part of its me, part of its y'all...we've unnecessarily ventured down negative paths in the past and we're both to blame...this isn't a one sided problem.

Trevor, look I enjoy your stuff as much as anyone, but this is patently untrue. Yours was the first negative post in this thread, what was, until then, a rather benign thread detailing a minor sim recruiting question...while your statement may apply in general, in this specific thread it is flat out wrong.

My response to this is that I don't respect antonsirius, thus of course I'm going to come at him when he posts something stupid like this, because he does and would do the same thing to me.  For this pompous *** to not know a common practice in the game...wtf?

I bumped those 2 threads because of this post.  He said I would never start a thread admitting that I wasn't sure how something worked when I've done it numerous times, so I'm biting back at him for posting false information.

The reason I initially posted the way I did is/was because I don't respect antonsirius and I'm railing back at him for all the other threads and bs from the past months, rightly or wrongly.  He comes off as a pompous, know-it-all elitist so if I can take a shot at him and his ego, then I'm going to do it.  Sure it may not be the best practice, but given our history, it felt like the right thing to do at the time.  He could have simply just answered the questions...gillispie and everyone else didn't really need to chime in...it wasn't really their business.

I see. Do you acknowledge that while you prove that point you also show how a thread like this (including one with the identical question you ridiculed) could be handled with civility?  Also, you realize that anton stated there was a "non-zero" chance? That is strange phrasing, but non-zero does not seem to be the same as "no-chance" to me...
