What Happened?

Finished 20-9. Team was very good. Made it to the Conference Championship Game for the first time and ended up losing by 10. Had a 97 RPI during selection timeframe (lowest into the PIT was 90). RPI 100, SOS 220. Conference was 22nd in RPI, so I needed to schedule hardcore in non-conference, but didn't. It'll be better next season, although my team will be worse. Prestige stayed at C-.

What's Good?

Expect at least winning records from now on. Overall record at UCSB is even at 71-71.

Conference Player of the Year- Michael Hammond (1T in PPG, 5th RPG, 10th SPG, 3rd 3PT%, 2nd FT%)
Defensive Player of the Year- Marvin Oliver (1T in PPG, 7th APG, 1st SPG, 1st 3PT%, 3rd MPG)

Others- McNany 1(0th RPG, 8th FG%), Kearns 1st APG, Clark 9th BPG

Team Leaders- 25th FG%. 6th 3PT%, 3rd 3PT% Against, 3rd 3PT% margin, 3rd FT% margin

What's Bad?

SOS actually got worse, from 151 to 220. The conference fell off dramatically. If I could've wrestled one more victory I could've been in the PI, or a few more shots and I could have made the NT. Close, but no cigar.

I lose all of my 3 point shooting with Hammond, Fenley, and Oliver leaving. Didn't think about it, hopefully I can snatch a guy that can play right away to avoid -2 or -3 defenses next season.

Lessons Learned?

There's 4 other humans, but 3 are in the other side of the conference. I have to schedule much better even if it means a few more losses in able to get a decent SOS.

Dumping the zone, practicing only M2M. This may have some growing pains, but there's very few (like 2) teams that can compete year in-year out with zone in any world. Hopefully it's a smooth transition, but my pool of recruits will be getting smaller as I need to emphasize defense.

Overall?

It's rough coming close, but not breaking through to the postseason. I put in a job application to Mississippi (same C- prestige, longshot) and was quickly denied. I looked around at a few stepbackwards schools but it's not worth it. May look again though.

I'll be lowerclassman heavy so I'm not expecting much for next season. Hopefully it's not a huge waste of a season.

51 WE. Started off with Arizona St on him as well. Decided to throw 40K on him to get him off of his list.
Should be a monster. I haven't had an ineligible not show up for me, so I'm not worred about him going
JUCO. With my switch to M2M I've put a big emphasis on defense with all of my recruits. Besides him
sitting out one season, there's nothing not to like.

50 WE. Nice potentials across the board, with the only Low on PER. Probably a PF, backup SF.
The BH/Pass aren't quite good enough to be a starting SF. Might never start with Lumley in his
path, so he'll most likely just be a nice 4 year rotation player.

61 WE. Yet another player in the long line of guys that are PG's that can't pass, and will play SG.
Might get a few minutes starting out since I only have 2 other guys I feel comfortable putting at PG.
So I may not have the opportunity to RS him. Perhaps he'll end up a starter at SG for a season, but
I don't expect greatness from him.

62 WE. Still needed another center since I have to wait on Bayerl for a season. Struggled to decide
between a few guys and settled on Funk. Great D and ATH, would have liked a few more points in
REB, but he'll be alright nonetheless. I'll be good on post players for awhile now, with the 3 new
additions along with RS FR Lumley and SO Johnson.

Overall, a solid class, with a stud in Bayerl. I wouldn't expect any of the other 3 to be All-Conference
guys. But all will do just fine as the team switches to M2M.

Had a great season. Won the CT and even won a game in the NT. Increased my prestige to a C+. Lost Kilburn to EE even though he wasn't all that great, but team would still be good enough to make the postseason next season. So naturally I dumped all that progress to go to a terrible Virginia Tech team in a conference that will permanently be #1 in conference RPI. I rule.

Team has won 4 conference games in the last 7 seasons. Very impressive. Could be a few seasons before I win my first one.

Will also be dumping the press defense in favor of M2M.
