Uno Version 9 Draft Here Topic

I have the 2nd pick of round 2. Is that safe from being stolen as a Round 1 wildcard pick?

Each Round will have the same time slot for each day, starting at 9am eastern and finishing at 9 pm eastern everyday. Everyone will have a 30 minute timeslot. You can start the next round at anytime once the round before you has started. Just remember though that players selected in earlier rounds have preference over your round. So we can have and I encourage multiple rounds going at one time. We will start the clock on Monday at 9am eastern.
Ok now Im thoroughly confused...it says here that players selected in earlier rounds take precedence....so how can you not lose a player to a WC if player in rnd 1 decides to use a WC?

The key may be limiting the number of special cards that can be played in a round maybe say that only 3-4 total cards can be used per round. everyone will use there WC in round 1 if we dont implement some sort of limitation.

* In past UNO versions, 1 Wild Card & 1 Reverse Card were allowed per each Round to both keep the Draft Moving ahead (at times 3 or 4 Rounds may be going at once) and to avoid what will said...having everyone use their Wild Card in Round 1. That's why I was waiting for a clarification as it didn't explicitly say 1 Wild Card allowed per Round, but it had been that way in other seasons...

dont know what everyone else is talking about being confused but its clear to me  if you had aplayer that played both for the naps and the braves just like in other unos if someone took him in the braves round the team in the naps round could steal him and have prescedence as for Wild Cards what I got was once the next round began WC had no presedent im sure Baston could explain it better

Yes there can be multiple wildcard selections per round. I will however put this rule into effect. The person starting the very next round can start it and their pick is safe from a wild card selection only. That means if it isn't a wildcard, the pick in the current round would take precedence, then you would have to repick from the same team you had chosen previously. If you take a player then in the current round someone uses a wildcard on that player, the player who started the round is safe with that pick. Hope that makes sense.
OK- per Bastan- YES more than 1 Wild Card can be played.
BUT - It's 1st Come, 1st Served on a New Round Selection versus a Wild Card Selection.
So SINCE I had posted Round 2 - Maddux & the Braves before someone grabbed him as a Wild Card- my pick & Round 2 Atlanta Braves stands.

How does timing factor into this? If we start a 2nd round prior to it "being on the clock" on the day(s) before it is scheduled are picks not "secured" until that round can go on the clock? Since multiple wild cards can be played a round this would slow the draft as someone commented earlier...

how do picks in round 2 start before round 1 is over?

Ok guys, everyone needs to calm down. This is how uno works. It is not a regular draft that you always do. There is meant to be startegy and multiple rounds moving at a time. So let me try to explain this again. You can play your wild card whenever. The only pick that is safe from the wildcard though is the VERY NEXT ROUND'S STARTER. For example, Todd's pick is safe, but anyone who follows him is not. You can always pick assuming that your pick will not be a wildcard, but if it is, you will have to pick whatever is left from that team.

Will, I hope everyone uses their wild card in the first round, bc they might get screwed later in this draft by multiple people. I also know what it has been in past uno's and as you can see this is not like the past uno's with the draft slots and multiple cards for you to use in the wild, skip, and reverse all at once. Hopefully that cleared everything up. So let's get back to drafting.

I currently have the 2nd pick in Round 2, which according to the rules is not a "safe" pick. Meaning that a Round 1 wildcard pick could steal my player. I would then get screwed and have to choose from the Round 2 leftovers.

Just letting everybody know that I won't be making my pick until Round 1 is completed. I understand that I will be holding up the draft but (if I'm understanding the rules correctly) there is zero advantage to me making a selection. On the other hand, it could potentially be a disaster for me if my player ends up being a wildcard selection (as small a possibility as that may be).

Well that's fine. Since everyone is in an uproar about it. We will just go back to the same mundane ruling. Since Todd has already put his pick out there because of my ruling his will be the last that will stand. From now on, no pick is safe, and I guess that means we will just go one round at a time and not have multiple rounds going. That should make everyone happy.

I really dont see the point in making Toddles 2n round  pick safe. Its not like theres been a bunch picks made since he made his. You should clear his out and make the rules apply to all rounds.

Fishnasty should have the option of making a different selection if he'd like to.
