Not always groomsie, and sometimes you just have to move on. I've spent more on phone calls to guys that I thought i'd have a chance at though. My philosophy is not for everyone.

It's an error.

jbrewman, what do you see as the advantage to your way?

Do you think it's cheaper?  If so, how?

Do you think it saves time?  If so, how?

Do you think you get considered faster?  If so, how?

And one final question: if your offer gets rejected, is it still possible to recruit that person later?

jbrew just wastes $90 per recruit he goes after. its not that much money. if your other strategies are sound you can be fine.

heck, i was reasonably successful before i started even going for pulldowns. there are many phases of the game which you can make up for shortcomings in other parts.

You guys are in agreement.

Was hoping a veteran could address this. A lot of the guys I was hoping for at SG are being considered by Sim AI teams at D2. I'm at D3, but have A+ prestige. Any point in going after any of these guys or will it cost too much? Can anyone give me a rough idea of the cost it would take to sway one in # of visits or scouting trips? Thanks.

Typically at least 16 or 18 scouting trips, although I have done it once or twice with as few as 12...  Occasionally 30+.  Once went into the mid-30s and didn't get the guy, had to sign a D3 guy on the cheap.  But usually 20 is a decent average; expect it to be a few fewer than that if FSS says they aren't tight, a few more if it says they are.  I might let it go if they're tight, but not if you have money to burn.  And then after you start being considered it might take 2 or 3 HVs to get the lead.
