It looks to be a fun and challenging draft! Jump in gang!

I'll take the Rangers. I want to whip the Boston Bruins and while I'm at it, the Pens too.  hehe

Those of you already signed up, I have a question for you:

Is the re-draft idea (meaning more than one season) appealing to you, or are you more than likely a one-and-done with this theme, or perhaps waiting to see how the draft shakes out first?

I joined this because the concept amuses me.  Yeah I'm not sure about how it plays out beyond one season.  I kicked around the idea of how it might work with keepers but, it wouldn't.  However, now that I'm signed up, here I am.  I don't quit leagues.

Much obliged damag.

That's why I didn't ask for a commitment of x number of seasons.  I thought about keepers too, but chuck talked some sense into me.

If enough people enjoy this player pool, we can explore how to move forward.

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Regardless, I'm going to have fun with a season of this.

Now if I could only talk sense into my wife and kids!!!!

You could progress with a fresh draft each year (no keepers).
3/23/2011 12:52 PM
or you could do 1 keeper the 1st year...2 keepers the 2nd year...3 keepers the 3rd year and so on

Both options are being considered in my head.

Just need more of a feel for the best way to keep folks around for more than one season.

Of course, there is plenty of time to discuss that.

I disagree with the keepers. It will all be contingent on your draft position, and the people stuck with the lower end of the draft pool, while still getting a great player, will lose out on the top tier players. I believe we talked about a snake style draft as well, right kid?
3/23/2011 8:56 PM
Any and all drafts we do, especially the original one, will be snake.

While I think there would be 24 players good enough to be kept, we don't want a situation where someone drafting at the end of the round would feel they got the short end of the stick.

Like I said, we have all season to discuss what long-term potential the league does or doesn't have.  I won't be crushed if it ends up a one and done idea.

Why not randomize each round, no one will know which position they will pick from round to round.

Count me in- I'll take the NJ Devils as well- and the interest for me is redrafting the same pool over and over again, and seeing how the drafting strategy changes each season.
