1. ljemd MJ, Elvin Hayes, Isiah
MJ was a good pick. Big E was not. Neither was Zeke. Neither guy mesh well with what Jordan gives you and neither make up for his weaknesses (if any). Moreover, both take away from the good that Mike does give you. If you have a team with Jordan on it, you want Jordan to have the ball as much as possible without incurring any possession penalty. And when he doesn't have the ball, you sure don't want guys like Hayes & Thomas with it. Don't like this start, and I'm not sure there's much you can do to save it.
2. ncih Rodman, Dirk, Reed
A formidable frontcourt that should dominate in the possession war. I've come to appreciate what Dirk gives you in this sim more and more despite his lack of offensive boards and FTAs. Rodman & Reed make up for the first, and I'm becoming convinced the second is less important than I originally thought.
3. banditone Moses, Nater, K. Porter
Love Moses + Nater... Don't get the Porter pick. He doesn't give you threes, rebounds or ftas... in this league, your point has to give you one of those things. If you just want assists, then you should get someone who has a really low TOV% or who plays defense. Porter's none of these things and there are some great pgs out there who do give you many of those things.
4. jcred5 LBJ, Thurmond, Brand
I don't like the Thurmond pick, but Brand & LeBron are an incredible base to work from. You got lots of room to improve a good start.
5. malone9975 Wilt, Nance, Kemp
This could be my favorite team thus far. I'm not sure which Wilt you're using, but I'm envisioning something special with this front court. Nance at the 3 is such an amazing compliment to many things that can be done in this sim... Wilt + Kemp is a deadly force up front no matter which Wilt you end up using. I really, really dig this squad.
6. 98average Dwight, Parish, Horace Grant
And I really, really dig this one, too. Monkee once had Dwight + Parish, and I thought it'd be unstoppable. He ended up losing 60 games. Horace Grant is a much better 3 man than who he had, however. You got boards, high efg% and defense... never a bad way to start a team. Lot of guards still out there to make this team flourish.
7. dh555 Kareem, Camby, Nash
I really like this team as well. Camby is a wonderful compliment to Kareem.. and Nash in the 3rd round is almost a steal in this format. You got boards & efg% out the wazoo. This looks to be a typical dh team... deadly.
9. appleseed1 Barkley, AK, McHale
Can't go wrong with Chuck... but I really question who you've surrounded him with. AK or McHale are fine if you get a center with big board possibilities... but both with Chuck? I don't like how this could go for you. You've proven me wrong before.
10. tricky24 Wade, Buck Williams, Grant Hill
I like Wade + Buck. Hill makes me think you're going to do the smart thing and play Wade at the point... but I still don't like Hill in this sim. He does give you some good stuff from the 3... but he's a classic midrange guy that doesn't rebound enough to make me happy about putting him at the 3. Still... this is a nice defensive squad.
11. mikee1 CP3, Mutombo, Donyell Marshall
I think that this was too early for cp3, but I absolutely love what you're doing here. Great D... Marshall is the ideal SF... someone who boards well (around 28% creb) at the 3 while giving you a ton of 3s... with few turnovers and plays defense, too. AND he's a 4th tier usage guy, which I've recently found to be very desirable when building a team. I am really curious to see where you go at the 2 and the 4.
14. xxevilivexx1 Bird, Duncan, Billups
Classic case of guys I like IRL yet don't seem to be so great in the Sim... and then there's Billups who just is insane here. You've got a lot of great stuff working here, depending on which Duncan you end up using. Bird/Billups is a nice combo that gives you a ton of all kinds of desirable stuff. You're done with usage, too, so that's helpful with the rest of your draft. Duncan's the wild card here. Use the right one and you've got a dangerous start.
