"bluenote75 - Magic Johnson, Dirk Nowitzki

I've always been a fan of Magic... Though I'm not a fan of Dirk.  Usually I think you need Rodman or Moses to make Dirk work well.  Maybe Magic's offensive rebounding will make up for the lack of Dirk on the boards.  I love the offense these two bring individually, but I'm not sold on playing the two together.?"

I'm curious to see how it will work!  I think this team will be surprisingly successful....or in last place in it's division.

some thoughts....

- jethroeg taking reggie lewis has to be the most confusing pick ive ever seen in the odl....id love to hear his thoughts as to how he decided on taking him

- i hated the gilmore pick by banditone, but it worked out nicely for him based on the payton/drexler backcourt he was able to get...scary team so far

- trickys efg% is out of control

- im totally jealous of ncih's team....love shaq...love nash...love ray ray...gonna be a killer offense

- appleseed drafted 2 sfs....who's gonna play out of position?....if its who i think itll be i love it...if its not i hate it

- Nater's D is soooo bad now its not even a suprise when he falls to the 3rd round

- i love robo's zo/love combo.......zo hides loves defense and love makes up for zo's average rebounding

- jayson williams is not 3rd round material...too many good players were still on the board...plus im ****** cause i wanted him in the 5th

- with the murphy pick im guessing malone is playing mchale at the 3...which is were he should pretty much always play imo...love the murphy pick btw....even with the crappy d and no sf eligibility hes still pretty damn good

- the manu/kidd backcourt is awesome...already enough dimes and 3s with plenty of minutes to add more

amare is a beast....captain knows this....i know this...more people should as well...if you can handle his salary you cant find that kind of eite scoring from a big outside of the first round

no love for the big swede? haha. robo's combo of zo and love could also be said for drob and nater. love is great, but not his fg%, mins and price. nater's fg% is excellent. he gives lots of bang for the buck, too, just doesn't have 88 - 3's.

overall good comments. keep 'em coming, dh.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all you guys. i envy you. turkey, 3- nfl games, family, 4 day weekend... live it up! i will go to work in a few hours, afterwards, watch a little beijing opera while eating gong bao ji ding. haha.

i still love him...whats not not to love about 12/32? haha....just pointing out how far he falls now because of the defense....like you said though, not a problem for you since you got drob covering for him
11/23/2011 6:06 PM
yep, damn shame his defense got such a haircut... hard to understand how he could suddenly drop 40+ points.

robo, but you're breaking tradition. hard to see native american indians and pilgrams sharing their  Roast marinated pork tenderloin
roast potoatos with shallots, broccoli with juliened red peppers. haha.
11/23/2011 6:13 PM
Scud, they took dreb% out of defensive calculation.

That's why Love, Nater, Murphy, and others dropped like a stone.
11/23/2011 6:23 PM
Backed myself into a corner with these salaries...looking like an even remotely serviceable bench is going to be very difficult.

11/25/2011 9:20 PM
yeah, ya gotta be careful in the odl, mikee... my 5th rounder, i went with damon jones. 5.4 mil, but 2500 mins and 225-3's made. dimes, too, and 61% efg. but hard to pass up on a couple of excellent guards still available... but if i took one of them, the best i could get to in mins was 17, 855. anything in the 17k's makes me nervous.

thanks, glen for the info. didn't know how seble came up with his def numbers.
11/25/2011 9:41 PM
I only have 14.5k minutes out of my starters, but have $10mil for my bench.

There are a lot of 1.5-2.0 mil players who are very good buys.

Dalembert
Mailman
Odom
Pippen
Barry

A little light on offensive boards (35%), but good on defensive boards (97.5%), more than 60% ast, solid defense, good inside-out, good efg% & 16 usage points.
I doubt I get my guys in round 6 that I really want, but if I do, I'm very happy with this squad.  I'm especially happy with not drafting a real point guard, yet I have 3 guys with 17% ast% or higher.

Mark Jackson
Andrei Kirilenko
Kevin Durant
Bob McAdoo
Ben Wallace

Like Ash's team little light on the offensive boards 33.9% but strong on the defensive boards 102.4%.  Two 100 defenders and two 70 defenders and with 16.1% blocks, curious to see the combo of strong D rebounds and defensive will have with really high blocks.
11/26/2011 4:12 PM (edited)
David Robinson   60% paint
Swen Nater           60% paint

Terry Porter           33% arc
Damon Jones      72% arc

Shawn Marion      60% midrange

good inside-out game. this team will log in with above average def and off boards. starting 5 has more than 400-3's. 2 top shelf defenders, while porter is 60. damon and nater, below average. dimes are good. very low turn overs. we should be at 19,000 mins when it's said and done. efg% is the team's strength. should be a playoff team, but who knows.

11/26/2011 11:24 AM

Maurice Cheeks
Adrian Dantley
Gerald Wallace
Tim Duncan
Bill Russell

Not that I pretend to know a whole about this stuff yet but wanted to follow the crowd...Boards 36/96, Ast 70 and only have to hide one defender but a little too much usage, hoping this team defends well, lives at the line, grabs a lot of boards and doesnt foul/to much at all...we'll see!

Would love your opinion Ash!
