Norbert -       I think the size of the d1a recruiting class should be increased.  this would alleviate the need of some to string out 20 recruits as green when they are only gonna sign 12.  it also would level the field in actual game competition. i have often seen very adept recruits pop up out of nowhere to fill rosters of sim teams that would have been signed, if available.

this is definitely needed. recruiting is way to clustered in certain areas and the overall talent pool is not nearly deep enough.

another thing that would stop this. a recruit should only consider a school if they offer a scholarship. that would end a lot of unnecessary recruit hoarding. that would ensure that if you're going after the recruit that you intend to sign them for the most part.

I am for removing the artificial recruiting divisions and vision altogether, just let everyone have access to everything, and let the mayhem ensue.  But they aren't going to change recruiting for a long time and it certainly isn't the most important thing to fix.

Once all a school's scholarships are filled make it so a team can't spend any more money recruiting.

Just to be clear (as there is a lot of side tracking going on) This only refers to a 1A, or 1AA dropping levels (or multiple levels) to intentionally hurt a lower level coaches class, correct?

Unless I misread the initial post, this would have no effect on my 1AA squad targeting and turning green 40 guys for my class of 4.

He is talking about messing with other people through recruiting, namely recruiting players you have NO intention of signing...if you have at lease SOME intention of signing all 40 of these guys with your 4 open slots, I don't see a problem.

Norbert, how about a recruiting tab called  "remove from consideration".  I have had season's in which I will have 8 to 12 players green at a position merely because I keep trying to pick up undecided guys after the first signing cycle or two, and they are "tapped" guys that I will not sign ever, bu yet they turn green to my school.  I real life, a Coach will tell many recruits that they might want to sign elsewhere, or "remove them from consideration".

"Griefing" is a term from the 80s film, "Crash The Party" starring Chase Cross.  It means a low-level ****-block (i.e., when a stud male screws up his own night for kicks just to screw with his less than beautiful friend---or enemy---when he's trying to bang some random fat chick.)  My recollection is that when it happens to one guy, he says, "Good grief, Charlie Brown"---hence the term "griefing."
Also for us MMO nerds it is a widely used term from games of that genre, specifically on player vs. player servers.  "Griefing" usually consisted of repeatedly killing a lower level player over an over just because you could with not benefit or gain from it.  Ohh do I miss some DAoC Mordred action....inner and outer nerd signing off

Yes, griefing is an online term used in multiplayer games.  Okay, so now the secret is out. I'm a nerd.
Ignore my prior post, I did not read all the way down.....nerds rule the workd you know, from our mom's basement that is!

Uhm, just a thought:  We all play online games, and even if we don't play other games, we certainly play this one.  We talk about computer generated players like they are our own children.  We debate which computer generated player is better than another.  And we strategize the the best way to make our computer outplay the other guy's computer.  Hmmmmmm

Therefore, aren't we all nerds?  LOL

I like to consider myself a "smart jock."

Then I look at some of my posts and the words I use and I realize........ I'm a closet nerd.
