It's really beyond me why the world is so adhamently defending this owner. He has a ton of teams, all of them are horrible. I keep heariong that he has so much invested in this team and he should have the chance to turn them around. Currently he has 12 teams, and all of them are on pace to lose 90-100+ games. Id be shocked if he's an active owner, and there would be nothing to suggest that he'd turn the team around or even make the effort to do so. I really think the movement to defend this owner was more out of dislike for boogerlips and that they dont really see Philbar as a positive contributor to the world.

and the 3 seasons before he took over, they lost 99, 109 , and 132.

Looked at last years budgets and theres lots of craziness (Including your $20 million player payroll). This league is interesting, to say the least. And really looks more like a public world than a private world.

Trying to steer this back on track. I plan on keeping this team--based on what I currently know, I dont think I will be forced out.

Initial thoughts - Major Leagues

Position Players

C- There are 3 catchers currently on the ML roster.
Harry Otanez
Sal Green
Vin Chavez

Of the 3, Green is the best. He's mediocre defensively, and serviceable offensively. I will likely hold onto him. He's not ideal, and if I can find a better option I will. Otanez has options and will be sent down. Chavez will be designated. With only a 45 pc and AA batting splits, he had no value. Im sure he'll go unclaimes--so I will park him in the minors. I will look to acquire a defensive catcher via free agency, rule 5, or trade. There are no catchers in the minors with current PC above the low 70s or with superior arms. So there is no one worthy of a promotion.

1B- Here are the guys currently designated as 1B
Ozzie Nelson
Courtney Headley
Juan Lopez

None of these guys are ideal. In a perfect world, I would dump all of them. They dont cut it defensively, and their hitting isnt good enough to sacrifice in the field. The best hitter is Nelson. He saw most of the playing time last season and had 9 minus plays and no positive plays.

For now Im going to slot in current utility man Ewell Douglass  at 1b. His batting splits are slightly better than Nelson, and he will be an asset defensively. I would expect him to have a large # of positive plays at 1st which would make him a significantly better option overall than Nelson. Also, Douglas isnt suited for MIF or COF. Douglass would also make for an adequate LF defensively.  Ideally I will be able to upgrade here, but as I will post on later--my priority will be to upgrade 2b, 3b, SS and COF as I have no one suited for those spots defensively.

2b, 3b and SS

Im not going to link everyone here, because it is my opinion I only have a couple viable options. Sacrificing defensively is suicide. I will hunt for players that will exceed the defensive averages here and be adequate offensively. Since I have so many needs, I think this will be the most efficient way to build the team. I may be able to get one superior hitter here, but I am not counting on it.

Here's the players that I could plug into the infield if I cant upgrade. I will likely settle with playing one of the below players at 3b, and focus on upgrading 2b/ss in the offseason. These are the only MLers worth consideration to play in the remaining infield spots. There's no one to call up from the minor leagues either.

Fritz Washington - 3b Fritz is easily the best player on the ML team. But, he is overpaid and has started declining. He has 3 years left at $9.4M per year. If I can trade him, I will. He should have some value for a contending team.

Dustin Carter - 3b Carter played 79 games at SS last year and has defensive ratings of 74/69/72/72. With those #s he is a 3b at best. If I move Washington, Carter would be the most likey 3b from my current roster.

Darryl harris - 3b He played 93 games at SS last year with ratings of 77/67/93/67. Again, he is really only suited to play 3b.

I should add that I have bad personal experience with 3bs that just meet or just miss the defensive recommendations. If I can fill the SS, 2B, and CF holes cheaply, I will try to upgrade.
