$20 M in advance scouting is the absolute truth... Topic

The only time I've seen projections for a < 27yo player change with the same ADV from one season to another would be if a particular projected rating was exceeded by by the current rating.  In that case, the new current becomes the new projected.

You offer me "general understanding" i ask how did you learn and your offended????????????silly
When the owners who posted in this thread have played in hundreds of seasons and thousands of games, you can rely on what they say as a very good source. Play the game and learn for yourself. Or go to school on the other established owners' knowledge. Experience is about as good of a source as you'll find in the game.

Thanks for all of the responses. They were pretty much what I expected (and already knew). I usually don't get into pointless debates in WCs
Iike this, but in this case, there are a number of new owners in EL and I didn't want them to learn VERY WRONG information. When 2U23L didn't believe what rebelt and I were telling him about adv scouting, I figured maybe a civil tone and having that information verified by a number of other highly experienced/successful HBD players would convince him.....

Clearly I was wrong, lol. I guess he can just wallow in his ignorance then. I just hope some new players got something educational out of it.

PS- Started the thread, went to a Dodger game, came home... 3 pages and 32 posts later... Thread blew up pretty quick, lol.

It's been a long time since I used ADV but projections would vary from season to season.    I never used 20m but I used 12-14m several times and kept the projections.   When using 14m, they would vary a point or three from time to time.

I do not have the carfax to prove this.

FWIW, I have nothing to gain by telling people what I've learned thru 100 seasons.   In fact, one could argue that I have something to lose.   So, if you don't like what I post, block me.   You won't have to be bothered with ever reading my observations.

mongoose: You are wasting a golden opportunity here to keep a competitive advantage against new players!  Letting them wallow in ignorance only helps your own success!

Really though, you can apply this to other budget categories and assume it breaks down pretty quick.  Does $20 IFA let you see all Internationals?  Does $20 HS scout you all the HS players?  Does $20 Training mean no injuries?  No.  Even at the maximum, no budget category becomes infallible.

I understand what projections means mike thank you. I also understand that these are not real people, and they must have a number alocated for their maximum potential in any given attribute, and because this is a computer game i am assuming that $20mil in advanced scouting will buy you that number. Now the coaching and playoffs and injury can only retard the potential growth but that original maximum alocated number was true blue and thats how i see it. do you have imformation that can dispute that?
?

Why must we be your research hound dogs?  The information is out there.  As you're not paying me or something to retrieve it for you, it is to your own disservice to both a) refuse to look it up yourself and b) continue to falsely believe what you believe.

Unfortunatley everyone else is assuming you are wrong while you, by your own admission, are only assuming you are right.

It's a fundamentally wrong assumption.  He assumes that 20M gets you perfect projections, but that assumption is instantly invalidated as soon as a projected rating is broken by a current rating. I've tracked that on at least 5 occasions that I recall when I used to use 20M.

My advance scouts tell me that 2U23L is a moron.
6/3/2012 11:19 AM
You must have spent $20M
