Back to the topic at hand, the lottery worked perfectly. What's the problem? A team with a very high % chance got the top pick. That's exactly why there is a lottery to begin with.
Thank God the Bobcat's didn't get Davis.
Just found it somewhat funny that the team the NBA owns won the lottery. <conspiracy theory here>
@deanod - I don't think they got that good a deal with the trade they ended up with. Maybe Eric Gordon gets healthy and proves me wrong... but thus far he hasn't really been steady at all. Kaman was the best part of that deal and they basically got him for the expiring contract... not that the other trade was that much better, but I really think they got **** on with this deal. At least they got the 10th pick /shrug
That's a bit results oriented for a number of reasons
1) They didn't trade for Greg Oden- nobody thought that EG would miss the entire season
2) T'Wolves were supposed to be worse than 10th worst team itl
3) Even though T'Wolves pick was #10 it still had a non-zero chance at top 3
It's really hard to get a solid return when a superstar has you over a barrel, there's still plenty of time for Gordon to bounce back and have a very good career and at least the 10th pick is something. Gordon is like the best possible player still on his rookie deal they could have acquired, it hasn't worked out thus far but there was no way they could have rec'd a better return w/o the lense of hindsight
OTOH, they couldn't have gotten a worse return than the scola/odom/kevmart.
