FWIW, it was owners like you that practically forced me to make MWR in my worlds.     And a lot of commishes have started doing the same thing.

That is what a private world is for.  I am in them and I abide by the rules.  The world that started this thread does not have a MWR, so the guy is playing by the rules and doing what makes his team better.   I am not trying to convince you of anything, just stating the "he is tanking" argument has no real meaning.  It doesn't do anybody any good to shout from the pulpit there own belief system.  You either play by the rules or you don't.  This guy, for the situation he is in, probably is.  Tanking is up to interpretation, there is no hard way to define it.

I think I see the disconnect.  "Within the rules" does not mean "One can't tank".   Worlds with MWR still have tanking.   It just starts at a higher level.  I forget who said it earlier but you only have to lose one less than the 31st worst team.    Running out a Triple A team over the last two series of a season to go 0-6 while finishing with 66 wins when #31 won 67 is still tanking and it's still within the rules.    I don't think it's a very good idea, most of the owners I've lost to MWR have missed by 1-2 games over multiple seasons so turning that 0-6 into a 2-4 and 2nd pick saves a team, but it happens(maybe on a less noticable scale).

Tanking works!!

True, if you are going to try to higher your draft slots within the rules, you better be careful as a MWR could bite you.

Why get so hung up on rules?  What this tanker is doing is flouting the spirit of fairness and competitiveness that makes this game fun for all.  Imagine if we all did the same thing that this bozo does.  MWR are good, but if a world doesn't have them, that doesn't automatically make it ok to tank.  I just wanted raise awareness of a malignant presence here in the HBD community.

Some worlds don't care about tanking.  Other worlds do.

Tanking is tanking.. Blatant or not.. You're not even in the world so why do you even care. Obviously its an accepted method in their tard world.. You should concentrate on your own worlds and cleanse them before you go on a crusade to police others.

Not sure how this site has survived all of these years witout you and your brother try to solve all of HBD's probelms.

Sorry willsauve.  I'll be quiet now.  Thanks for putting me in my place.  I'll try to remember to get your approval next time I decide to post something.  But hey, while you are here, I would like to know if,  in your infinite wisdom you can tell me how it is that this team is a tank job.  In my eyes, cleanshave is just plain incompetent.  We don't kick people out for being incompetent in Yaz.   If he was a tanker, he would have been turfed from the world long ago.  As for this team, usfbully took over that team before rollover last season, so that 48 win campaign doesn't count as far as our WMR is concerned.  It's funny to me that you can overlook the truth about the past record of someone that you are familiar with the history of (remember "For Life"?  You were in that world with usfbully) just to make whatever weird point it is that you are trying to make.

Another thing - I am not trying to police other worlds.  I am just making people aware that there is a tanker in our midst.

Hey Will if you had taken a real look at cleanshaves record over the last 10 plus years you will see no classic tanking behaviours.  You just saw his bad record this season, and maybe last, but you didnt bother to look at all before you essentially called him a tanker.  The guy that Shobob is outing here is tanking and nobody with any brains can deny that fact.  Tanking is at best an annoyance, at worst in can DESTROY worlds.

Another grandstander making a moral judgement on another world.  I'm not in the world, but to label it a tard world for a guy playing within the rules is kind of iffy.  As previously stated by Mike, if you want to enact rules to put constraints on people within a world (and I am in some of those worlds and chose to be in them and abide by the rules there) it needs to be a private world with such rules.  Some private worlds don't have MWR, so playing within the rules to better your team is acceptable.  Doesn't mean it is a tard world.  Unless you like throwing your own moral judgements on people.

You say "moral judgements".  Others say "informed opinion based on experience".

"Within the rules" does not mean "One can't tank".

It's just another version of "I'm doing the best I can with what I've got while not damaging the future of my team."
6/13/2012 1:38 PM
There's a big difference between an owner/team needing the top pick and a team/owner wanting a top pick.. When teams purposely fields a crappy team for numerous seasons it forces all of the other teams to employ the same strategy to compete.   These worlds have been classified as tard worlds and it's basically whoever wants to spend the most real $$ wins.  I didnt make up the term TARD WORLD, but I think the name fits in my opinion.

I think it's entertaining when these tard worlds cry about not filling fast enough. Anyway.. I'm  not even sure why I'm posting here. Some people like playing in worlds with no restrictions and thats their right.
