I know it's extremely annoying to see these posts all the time, but I am really trying hard and have been in keeping the USA South the number 1 conference in Phelan D3 and get it back up to the level it was only a few seasons ago when we qualified for the all time conf D3 rpi list. Again 4,750 in post season cash and we only had 3 teams get to the S16 or beyond. All open schools have a majority human recruits and some are very talented. Depending on job apps my A+ La Grange team with elite returning talent maybe open(I'm hoping to land this damn PBAU job I have been trying to get for a year now). Otherwise we have:
Chowan runs a FB/Press missed the post season but was just in the 2nd round a season ago(had 6 freshmen this season) Depsite the bad record they're a very nice team to take over(serious) you will only have 1 open scholarship, but 3 seniors 2 juniors and 6 freshmen, I'd def try and grab juco recruit in this situation. Nice winning tradition in recent years with coach_blades being dominant there and midget218 doing a great job as well and then yoijames made a nice transition to the fb/press and had a nice NT 2nd round.
CNU is another great option with a flex/man and some great upcoming senior guards off a 1st round NT season. 4 open scholarships and I'd go for 3 freshmen and a good juco big man to have another competitive year.
PBAU, yes I don't care if you take the job over me if you qualify I'd be happy to have a great coach join even if it impacted my job app. Seriously PBAU its one of the most coveted D3 jobs!!! A down year, but also a rebuild year with a bunch of freshmen and walkons as tcole23 had to cut a sizeable portion of the roster. However recruited very well. 2 freshmen hit 90 development points over the season and 2 more in the upper 70's. 5 incoming freshmen so you get to immediately tap into the rich recruiting grounds of FL.
Heres some info on who we have in the conference. West division is tougher right now but the east was on top only a few seasons ago. 5 total NC from our coaches(2 each from taggl and guerillazen1, and 1 from fungun10.) GZ and FG are competiting for NC's right now GZ is always one of the favorites every other year(based on class structure) and still makes deep runs his jr/fr heavy years. FG is competing every single year and is on a big tear, having just lost the NC game, and then going back 4 seasons has two S16's and one E8 and one F4, And taggl should be here in a few short seasons as he just joined(but go check his franklin team if you don't believe me, he's super talented.
Non-NC winners include Ars who may say he sucks but has averett as a household name in the world 2 seasons removed from a E8, ars managed a 2nd round tourney appearance despite what he calls a down season.
I have La Grange where I have now made the S16 3 of the past 4 seasons as well as being active on the boards, forums, wis chat, and my seasonal write-ups in the phelan boards which I consider a plus reason to join.
Dirtbag13 has NCWC geared up for a big upcoming season "basically" running a super class he produces some big results(S16, F4) on top years.
kbc167 has a great D3 track record, his last 3 seasons at his previous d3 school all ended with top 25 rankings and 1 31-1 record, in tark as you may know he coaches Cal Tech and is looking to keep them on their upward trajectory as he is only recently removed from 2 F4's in a 3 year span.
Swaney probably has the toughest recruiting of any of the schools with La Grange and Oglethorpe historically being elite programs and in better spots in GA, and yet has made 3 final fours and 6 S16's in his time at Piedmont and now has eliminated the pseudo super class he was running and is looking to be competitive year in and out with a more balanced class.
So yes we might not have the NC count of other elite D3 conferences(cough Naismith UAA) or the elite NC winning domination as mentioed power conferences we regular are sending multiple teams deep into the tourneys and bringing home high amounts of post season cash.
Really I don't know what else to say. If you want to stop seeing me post just come join us! But really this is a great chance to add another team in a great conference which makes the game a whole lot more fun and makes you better as a coach.
