He signed with the sim, luckily I still have 1.5k to go after one of my backups.

A couple of things for future reference:  it's generally not very advisable to publish how much money you have left or have put into a recruit while recruiting is still ongoing.  Lots of coaches read the forums but don't post and you're giving away valuable info that a smart coach could take advantage of.  Also, it would seem from some of your posts that you may possibly be overestimating how much effort you're putting into a recruit.  4K from a B prestige D2 school battling against a D1 Sim is really not a whole lot.  At all.  Finally, the only two things that really tell you where you stand in a recruiting battle are the WOTS and the scholarship messages.  Anything else is just fluff.

I thought about that while I was doing it but j decided I really didn't care, I have a couple guys I could easily get onto and If someone took one it would just make my decision. Also these guys aren't standout players so if someone wants to fight me for them by all means. And the guy I was fighting with was a sim so it's not giving them an advantage. I know that 4K and B prestige is not a whole lot, especially when it's mostly scouting trips, I just thought that the opponent being a bad sim I might have a shot. I know that part about scholarships and WOTS being the only reliable thing. Besides coach calls right? from my understanding they are pretty reliable as well.

If I'm recruiting against a Sim Coach, how much should I try to spend to get myself ahead on the list, or even up from Way behind, to just behind?

Thank you for trying to help, I appreciate it. Sorry I wasn't trying to discount what you said, I was just explaining my thought process.
