Does SP lose effectiveness when set to RP status? Topic

Italyprof, I assumed NPD was narcissistic personality disorder.  Not exactly a Twitter abbreviation in this case.

But we do see our fair share of SMHs on these forums, it seems to me...

Here's my 2 cents, a question, and a dice game tidbit.

I once used Whitey ford as my closer (forget which year) he was pretty effective however SIM fatigue would not allow him to be 100% for 2 games in a row.

LEWB   I looked at your rosters and am wondering who you plan to put in your bullpen,????  your bullpens seem to be good.

In the 1971 version of Sports Illustrated baseball, they gave Bart Johnson 2 different color coded ratings, 1 for when he was used in relief and one for when he was a starter (He did pitch in over 50 games and started 16) .  Give me a dice game over a computer any day.

I don't have the fatigue angle down pat yet, therefore, my relievers are getting overly fatigued after a short stint...So, when I am short some arms in the pen, I will slide a starter with 100 per cent into a relief role(usually "set up ") for a game or two, to help out and eat up some innings...

mlent, I am glad to see someone else here who played Sports Illustrated Baseball - and in 1971 - I had those rosters, remember the color coding, didn't remember Bart Johnson. But I started playing it in 1970, and I also had the All-time All-star version with the greatest players from each original franchise. Fun.

OOTP Baseball, a computer game but a good one that I play when I find time, has a "Quickstart" which means you just click on the option of that game and it gives you the league and all the rosters already setup and ready to play with the 40 best players from each team in their best seasons.

Anyway, nice reminder of a game I played very often when I was 10-11 before I discovered girls and Watergate.

I won a World Series with the 71 Tigers, Joe coleman won game 2 @ 5 in the world series, just kept rolling twenty three (seemed like every tiger had a hr on that number)  then HansPeter bought strato-matic,  when ever girls came over we would hide the cards dice etc...

That quickstart has a lot of roster issues if you examine it closely though. I think they were trying to avoid having players appear on multiple teams, but some of the team choices are puzzling, and they failed to check lesser well-known players. I've made a comment on this on the OOTP forums at least once and no replies.

I will look for your comments about it on that forum uncleal. I know that they did want to avoid having players on multiple  teams, and thought that by having players in their best season they would get balance between old franchises and say, the Mariners etc. but I hear what you are saying and will take another look.
