I'm not sure I'm going to continue playing this game. We'll see how it looks when it's live I suppose.

How much impact is distance going to have in this update, right now distance is 1a or 1b on the importance factor for recruiting. (the0nlyis - Hall of Famer - 11:51 AM)

I would say it'll be about the same or less important. Much of that depends on the cost of scouting/recruiting distance. Those numbers are still changing.

That is 100% total bullshit.

The .00001% respect I had left for seble is absoutely gone, I have 0% belief this will do anything good and just cause of a bunch of people to leave because it doesn't fix anything.

Seble is so out of touch it's scary.
3/4/2016 11:54 AM

I know you actually have a team or two, but it really seems like you have no idea what is actually wrong with the game, you couldn't seem anymore out of touch with this game than you currently do.

Won't get recognition either....

ok, so we're back to budget? so why is postseason cash going away again?

because he doesn't like power conferences

If people are ONLY playing in strong human filled conferences to gain postseason money, then yeah, it's possible that will decline. I hope there are other reasons to be in a strong conference.

Some coaches enjoy the game the way it is. Could you possibly accommodate them by leaving one or two worlds the way they are, with the game being played the same as it is now in those worlds? (bistiza - Hall of Famer - 12:03 PM)

Unfortunately, no. I hope those coaches will keep an open mind about the changes.

It would be nice if Seble kept an open mind about what actually needs to be changed

For the most part, I don't think it has been updates that have caused people to leave. We took a major hit during the recession and haven't fully recovered. On top of that, we haven't had as many resources to work on the games as we'd like, so that has caused some people to give up on the game.

is this guy serious? he is blaming the recession for the hit to player population? so this is why he won't address recruit generation... he's living under the delusion that his changes had nothing to do with the bleeding. i suppose the recession only hit d1 coaches, i guess a disproportionate amount of d2 coaches are in the mob or something... that would explain why 6-12 month after the recruit gen change, d1 population took a massive dive while d2 did not. give me a break!

grab the pitchforks we storm at dawn?

like serious how convoluted is he?

none of these changes actually address the problems

he won't keep an open mind about what actually needs to be fixed, I'm not going to keep an open mind about his ****** update plan

this developer chat was way too much like the evals: a whole lot of repetition without getting much information, and the few nuggets of material information that were given, were disappointments.
3/4/2016 12:10 PM
wait... he said that 1000 vs 200 would PROBABLY be excluded because the 200 guy was below the signing threshold? what the ****? wow. i see merit in the idea - the concept - as i said before. but it can be done very wrong. to be clear, if you outspend a guy five to one, he sure as **** better sign with you. 1000 to 900, or maybe even 800 - ok - its not realistic you outspend by 1% and have 100% to sign. but 5 to 1? good lord. has seble ever even played this game?

i will continue to keep an open mind but him saying stupid **** like that is not doing him any favors. a lot of newer coaches think veterans are just bitter - and they are only half wrong - but its because we've seen seble's judgement in action, that we got this way. he does make some good calls, like the projection report update was fantastic, but the magnitude of this update leaves me worried about the several bad ones he is guaranteed to make, and just how badly they will screw things up. allowing a 5:1 battle to go to the 1 guy, that could pretty much ruin the game. when he bites off smaller things, he actually has a pretty good track record.

To address all the non-recruiting questions: There won't be any real changes to the rest of the game (other than an updated UI). I'm aware of the other issues in the game, but they'll have to wait for a future update. ( Moderator - 12:10 PM)

Jesus christ seble what the hell is wrong with you

RE "a lot of newer coaches thnk veterans are just bitter ... "

What else can we think if we read the forums?

I followed the Chat and I am very encouraged. I also re-read the Scouting and Recruiting threads at the top of the Hoops forums, and I can see the thinking behind the update. I can also see many areas that can only be tweaked based on experience, so I hope the Beta comes soon. I guess an open mind helps a lot in this case.

Can you explain the changes to the schedule with respect to recruiting, jobs, and EEs? How do those all fit together now?(gillispie1 - Hall of Famer - 12:02 PM)

The first recruiting period runs from mid-season until the start of the postseason. There is a dead period then until the second period, which is after the job period. So coaches who change jobs may have an opportunity to do some recruiting for their new team. Also, coaches who lose players early to the draft will have a chance then to fill those openings.

i was trying to find a question in there to say something positive about, just, you know, to be a good sport. but then i saw he answered this. yeah, this one will level the d1 playing field... because coaches who lose players to the draft will be completely screwed. you don't even know who is going to be on your ******* team, until after the bulk of recruiting is over? give me a break. on the upside, all those coaches pining over those A+ baseline jobs, they will be getting their wish soon here.
