Sure, guys, of course you can use the joke at parties. It's just lame enough to be funny.

It was solid. My favorite:

How do you make a handkerchief dance?

Put a little boogie in it.

Isn't this player proving my point? He goes up 20 pts a year, loses in the offseason, and is nowhere near his potentials as a senior.
I agree, looking at those potentials and this recruit we are talking about. That is what Purdue is getting with the recruit in question. I would prefer a guy that was going to improve and not decrease every offseason. Just a personal preference.

If he starts for four years his WE will go something like 6->8->11->15.

Guys a player, he'll be pretty good his SR. year. He'll never max out but I don't think that is important. He'll get to quality core stats, which is whats important, but not quickly, also important.

I think the "he won't max out" argument not very strong. Maxing out is not important, having good ratings is.

He will be lucky to have an overall rating of 725 by the end of his SR year

^^Theres a 720 overall who was the best defender, second best ball handler, and scored 14 PPG as the starting SG on a DI Sweet 16 team.

Oh look, what did I find? A 730 overall who is playing 22 minutes (and averaging 8 and 6) on a national title contender.

Not trying to come across like a jerk, btw. Sorry if these messages are coming out kinda blunt.

hahaha....those are very different 720 overall players.

Based on my experience, this is what I expect Morrow will look like at the end of his SR year:

1. His IQ won't grow 5 points a season.
2. Those projections are wasting minutes in REB and DEF. This guys PRACTICE PLAN should have 7 in REB, DEF and FT and 3 in LP. This leaves 65 minutes for COND, PER, BH and PASS. I would put 15+ in COND, BH and PER and wait on PASS.
3. With 15-20 minutes for 4ish years you should see 15-20 points of growth in those categories.

I would project him out at something like:

ATH: 87
SPEED:55
REB: 50
DEF: 90
SB:20
LP: 45
PER: 90
BH:70
PASS:80

That's a pretty good player his SR. year.

That's also a really inefficient 14 points per game.

Forget about maxing out. Nobody’s talking about maxing out. When having good ratings relies on significant progress, you definitely need to think about realistic projections. And when getting to those realistic projections requires starting every year, you need to think about where he’ll be each year, not just where he finishes.

I think you are grossly overestimating the possible gains in ATH and PER....even with 20 min in each, and I think you underestimate offseason losses. A player with <10 WE needs more than the 7 (red/def) and 3 (LP/Per) minutes to keep from losing in season, never-mind offseason.

I haven't had a ton of them but this hasnt been my experience with low WE guys.

I have had a bunch and I don't find that statement accurate.
