Don’t worry about it, Benis. I explained it over on the poll about you.

The results are really close.

20 people like it. 20 people don't like it. And then 15 don't give a ****.
Meaningless poll update.

People not liking two sessions takes a slight lead 23-22

I voted just to tie it up and give you the opportunity to update it again. You're welcome.

Now now Michael, at least be honest. I know you don't like the split sessions because it doesn't allow for new people to recruit right away.

My vote is MY vote.

Okay fair point. I don't want to be the guy who tries to crush democracy on the HD forums.

2/3rds of the voters don’t think it’s a problem.

I’ve only had a couple recruiting seasons and here’s my take... when you take over a new team, you’re u are basically screwed, unless you take over a team that was human controlled and they signed some players. If, and I stress if, you take over a sim ai team, you will get crap players already signed and if you have openings, the players left available for you to get are crap. If you have several scholarships open you will either get walkons, or bottom of the barrel options. That will handicap your team for several seasons.

i do enjoy the in season recruiting, but for the betterment of the game, I would rather have a week of recruiting between seasons. Let scouting occur throughout the season, but let recruiting happen in its entirety after job hidings, so that when you take over a team you aren’t wasting 1-2 seasons before you can get rid of the waste and get your own players.

Looks like it. I find it interesting that so many people are indifferent and don't have an opinion about it.

Are you talking about the 1000 that didn't vote?

correct.

Don't hate it. Don't love it. Probably liked one session better, but don't feel strongly about it.

Certainly could be better.

The first session should be one day shorter.
There is too much time between the 2 sessions. (there is also too much time between seasons).
New coaches should be allowed to recruit the second session.

I voted Love it!, but thats not really accurate.. it was just closer than the other answers.

I like it.

i would probably say that i dont like it quite as much as i thought i would. for years and years i wanted in-season recruiting. begged for it. im talking about starting in 2008 or something like that.

now that its here? like it. but probably not "like-like"

that might be partly because of the specifics of how it works.

For owners joining a world for the first time, the key is to take a team that will have a bunch of seniors in your first year. That way your team should do ok just based on IQ, and then you'll be able to recruit 6+ guys at the end of the season.

I would like to keep the 2 sessions but change how it is done with 3 changes:

1. Shorten session 1 to four days taking away one of the days before signings start. Add that day to session 2 making it three days. Have the first 3 periods of session 2 (8am-5pm, 5pm-11pm, 11pm-5am) become no-signing periods like the first couple of days of session 1. This lets teams (especially teams with EE's and new team takeovers) scout and unlock players.

2. Increase in a small way the number of players who want to sign "late". I don't know the actual numbers but it seems to me like about only 20% of the players are "Late" signers. Increase that to about 30%. Again this helps out teams with EE's and new team takeovers.

3. Add some players to the player pool in the 2nd session. For each world add: three 3 star players, four 2 star players, and five 1 star players. Also 20 unrated D1 players and 8 juco players. 40 is not a huge number of new players to add to the mix but would help out the above mentioned teams and add more strategy to the first session. If you scouted a state these new players would show up in your scouted pool automatically. The others you will have to go find.

Overall this would add more players to battle for in the second session (late signees upped by 10%), some new late bloomer players to go after, and a longer time to scout and unlock all unsigned players. At least it would help the teams with EE's and new team takeovers. There would be no new superstar players to find but there would be players now out there who would help any team. This also adds more strategy in session 1 as saving money for session 2 becomes more important. Also would add some players that D2 and D3 teams would go after and would mean less players that takeover D1 team coaches would go steal from D2 and D3 teams who have put considerable effort into a player.
