Wisconsin didn't start any freshmen. The B1G was very competitive this season and he was lucky to get in. Didn't have to do with promises.
Yeah I completely agree with that. I was unclear but I wasn't saying it was cause of promises. Just interesting that if you get in, anything can happen.

I think that's a big exaggeration. And in DI, its been almost always top 4 seeds in final four in Smith.
You are correct, the way I originally worded it. I changed it to be you could get it rather than you are getting it. It was meant to be a future warning but I stated it as an accomplished fact. My bad.

I did end up losing to Green Mountain like I expected. I wasn't that lucky 4 seed in the group.

or was this unrelated to that?

I'm pretty sure it was in response to the post about two 15 seeds in the S16.

Well, it’s a thread about whether seeding is meaningful anymore... was simply pointing out a situation where things developed almost perfectly as predicted by the seeding.

I'd have to agree with Chapel, just from what I've seen. Last season in Iba, Cub's #2 Idaho State team played a ridiculously underseeded West Virginia team in the first round and lost. In the same bracket, #3 Michigan State, who was loaded, also lost in the first round.

Recruiting promises have definitely lessened the weight we can put on tournament seeds.
That WV team was definitely under seeded. But it wasn't caused by promises.
Not caused by promises but 3.0. Great ,major conference teams seeds are hurt by the awful sims rpi wise but also pr wise
