is this fair? D1 coach moves to D3 Topic

The break in fair play comes from they were ALL early preference guys, and most D3 Coaches I know will stay away from them if a D1 is already there. He had NO INTENT to sign, only block other persons from pursuit. The reason I can tell he had no intent? None of them signed with his D1 program even thou he was preference. IE that means he had no offers.
I (as it may be the only one) am not giving him the same "accidential" pass some of you all are. Perhaps it is because I was in the hunt for one of those guys in question, who went to Kenyon.

Um yeah. This pretty much sums it up. I don't know how anyone can seriously think this isn't some shady stuff and shouldn't be allowed.

Agreed. The two guys that he had put effort and offered in session 1 with no intent to sign are the problem. The other two guys that he just put a couple AP into are not as bad.

agreed

plus think about the scouting implications - discovered and scouted with DI budget - then recruited at D3

not fair play in my opinion

What’s his class look like? A bunch of teams in the d2 California could nferemce raided southern Utah recruits once we saw his scholarships were full.

I frown on this but I don't think its technically against WIS rules. Granted it should be.

Is there any difference here if he used an alt ID to do this? His alt ID is in D1 and he scares away teams by showing effort but not offering scholarship. Then his D3 team comes in and signs them in the 2nd session. I think we would all agree that this would definitely be against the rules.

It's basically the same thing here IMO.

So maybe he planned for more, but didn’t get them

Is it legal? Probably. Is it fair? Not in my opinion. Is it right? No.

Hoops Dynasty – College Basketball Sim Games - Team Profile

Sheetz was the other guy he “held”
I had some effort on sheetz, if I had wanted him I would have taken him. He’s a backup D2, good d3 type player.

I think oroblems like like this correct themselves. If it had worked it would be one thing but it wasn’t like he snuck multiple D1 all Americans down to d3
