Gene is one of the best coaches in the game, certainly of D1 low and mid-majors.

One thing : Indiana, the state, never won in the Big Six. Some markets have won was it the coach or the configuration.

I think to make it more realistic, distance recruiting should cost the same for every recruit with a slight advantage with state players. Pref near home does that.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Do I have something wrong in this thread as far as the data/info?

Re: the first sentence, zorzii is pointing out that no Big 6 school in the state of Indiana has won a title in 3.0:

Purdue, Notre Dame, and Indiana all have 0 titles. From what I can tell, none of the D1 Indiana schools have titles in 3.0 (Ball State, Butler, Evansville, Indiana State, IUPUI, IPFW, Valparaiso).

There are D2 and D3 titles (including myself at DePauw in Greencastle, IN) but even those seem to be in short supply.

I can't help with the second sentence...though possibly slightly related, I do like the idea of "pipeline states" like what NCAA Football had where schools (or heck, why not coaches themselves?) have a slight boost when recruiting in particular states. It could help schools in more geographically challenged areas. If a coach at Hawaii signed a couple players from Texas and they had a lot of success there, it could be cool to see Hawaii generate a legitimate pipeline of talent from Texas by having a slight boost with Texas HSers.

Top : On the contrary, your data is telling me that in D1 winning has a lot to do with location and how empty your state is. Nevertheless, even with only one Indiana team in the Big Ten, we have yet to see Indiana teams win. I am for a more open recruiting competition where distance and recruit generations play a lesser role.

I understand your comment a little more clearly. But I just didn't know the foundation of the comment. I see you're talking out loud to the forums, and not to me specifically.

I hope to experience these things shortly! Joining Louisville and Missouri, I'm right around that area! (And I CAN'T BELIEVE you took that Michigan job!!! My favorite team I have is Coker in that world. And I've looked at that opening every season and just can't push the apply button yet. Michigan is my "dream" job if I have one I guess. My favorite team. But I figured it would remain open a while, especially with so many great D1 teams available this season. Oh well. Now I won't have to make a decision anymore each season! Good luck with them)

D3 Texas Tyler becomes the 3rd school in HD with 20 championships in 3.0. Following up at least 20 by D1 UCLA and D3 Palm Beach Atlantic

Indiana is a pretty bad location, but 0 titles for the state seems harsh with an A- and two B baselines. Still interesting.

Pipeline states would be totally awesome. We can always dream!

Shocked PBAU and Texas, Tyler are ahead of Colorado btw.

When you have qb4usf at any location, they will lead the way. And from what I hear PBAU is the best D3 spot on the map. Not sure why

Bump.

Just in case anyone cares to view. The pinned champions page is getting lots of views now, so it's just a reminder that this thread exists as well. Considering combining this info to the pinned thread
